I love Disturbed ,David Draiman has one of the best voices in metal,he was in a choir and is classically trained so he can go toe to toe with any Opera singer
@scottlaxton23916 жыл бұрын
His is one of my favorite voices, so much range, and extremely clean. What you hear on the album is EXACTLY what you hear live. I also believe he has (in my opinion) the angriest voice in metal.
@wajahathasib256 жыл бұрын
Exactly. His song Asylum is the proof of the latter.
@Stoltzfus6 жыл бұрын
I like Draiman and all, but he cannot compete with an opera singer. Where did you read/hear that he was "classically trained"?
@scottlaxton23916 жыл бұрын
DS you are right. He admits in an interview for a DVD (MOS I think) when he realised he was going to be doing it (singing) for a living he he did take singing and vocal lessons so that he could continue the lifestyle without injuring his voice. He even stops drinking and smoking while on tour and uses a portable vaporizer and humidifier if he gets so much as a sore throat. It may not be operatic calibur but you have to admire the dedication to his craft.
@DarkAngel1985Mike6 жыл бұрын

Vin And Sori, thank You for this great reaction. I really enjoyed it.I think there are a lot more songs from Disturbed that You can really enjoy. There's a lot of energetic songs, that, at least for me, gave me energy wen I was sad, for example " I'm Alive", "Ten thousand fists" etc. There are also songs that can really move you, for example "Inside the fire" and "My child", that were stories about tragedies that happened in David Draiman life. But for now I'd like to recommend You one of my favourite song made by them - "Enough". I believe You may really enjoy it. Best regards and sorry for my english, It's not my native language

One of Disturbed best songs and easily their best chorus. Also Vin, I've been playing guitar for over 20 years and you're not giving this riff any justice. It's actually a really creative riff if played correctly. Not nearly as basic as you're making it out to be. Still waiting for Thousand Foot Krutch - In My Room.. Make it happen!

Rob Jarrett Agreed. I’ve been playing for 18 years and this is one of the few riffs I can’t nail, but I can nail all Tool songs. It’s weird.

@stevendeherrera22406 жыл бұрын
Paul Cern I've thought about mentioning Inside the fire but given Vin's background I thought it may be insensitive but agree a great song with a tragic story behind it.
@barbaravance67746 жыл бұрын
Steven DeHerrera Why would it be insensitive? I think even those who have lost people in such a way would, like me, be more open to that discussion. The more it's brought to light, the we are likely to notice loved ones on the edge. We will never be 100% sure if we could/ would have seen something that might have helped. As far as the thoughts afterward and thoughts of the Church ate concerned, I think even the Catholic Church has changed. I don't know what the Jewish faith has to say though. Any ideas?

This is an amazing song! I’d like to point out that even though the guitar is more simple it services the song like it should. Being extreme and playing the fastest and hardest is all fine and good but that doesn’t mean it always creates a great song that flows well. The thing is that when a lot of people get into metal (including me) it becomes kind of an addiction to hear it more and more extreme. Then when you listen to bands that aren’t as much you start turning you’re nose up at it. I found that the more extreme the metal the more dissatisfied I got. It came to the point that extreme metal was doing nothing for me anymore. I had to step back and reflect on why I love music as a whole in the first place. A great song is a great song no matter what label you put on it or how simple or extreme it can be. It’s about the connection and flow. Great show guys!🤘🔥

I follow four or five of these reaction channels and I ALWAYS want them to react to Skindred but I seem to be in the minority on it. I just think their sound is unique enough to stand out and more often than not their songs have a positive vibe to them. In addition, there's a variety in Benji's vocal stylings, from a rapping style to as heavy a growl as can be to downright beautiful singing (I think I've heard Vin or Sori say they prefer when the vocals are not just one style). While I don't think it's a typical Skindred song, I'd recommend (and am sure I have on at least one other video for Vin & Sori) "The Beginning of Sorrows" as it's clearly biblical in nature/reference.

Aahh guys this song is one of my favorite songs by Disturbed. I can relate to the idea of using music to release emotional stress...anger,sadness, frustration. I was raised in a "christian" house. I respect my parents for their faith because I don't have it...I don't believe in god. I tend to side with evolution. My faith was put to the test when my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I questioned everything...she passed away in 2015. This song allowed me to scream...to cry... to ask why... I still don't know why...and I still don't believe.

"Stricken" and "Inside the fire" are two of my favorites. More intricate guitar too. Point being, they touch on some deep subjects. God and Satan, suicide, power of the media. They just touch on issues human beings have in a different way than some of these other bands.

The thing I found funny with your reactions and discussions was that I've always found this song to have a very dark message, in that the world itself ultimately doesn't care how you live your life. You live and you die and that's basically it. I believe this is backed up more in the music video. Plus, the album 'Prayer' came on was basically dedicated to being a middle finger to organized religion in general. Drainman, from my understanding, grew up in very conservative Jewish home and was practically disowned when he went off to join a metal band.

As a very loose religious person I take his song as a reference to depression. He’s praying to hurt more because he feels it’s what he deserves. Make my life harder and take everything I have left away so I have nothing to hold onto. Another nightmare will come tomorrow because everyday is a nightmare. Another life I’ve taken from you is his own life being removed for theirs. Another truth that you never believe had cripples you completely speak to the idea that they never thought he would follow through with hurting himself. Might just be me as person who deals with depression but I can relate to the lyrics in a different way. Song makes me cry.

Not religious by any means whatsoever but this is about the book of Job. Take everything away is about the trials of job to prove his love for god. Let's take your house, money, family etc. How far will you go to prove your love for the lord. Return to me cast aside you make me turn away. Job felt betrayed. Just an interpretation and Draiman has mentioned the trials of job during interviews.
