If you think that’s disturbing, have you heard one of the alleged rumors behind the origins of, “The Muffin Man”? They say it’s been discredited now but one of the alleged rumors is that the song was originally a code for the parents of London in the 1850s. Supposedly there was a baker who lived on a real Drury Lane and between the hours of 9pm-1am he would use his leftover muffins from the previous day to lure homeless straggling children into his bake shop where he would do unspeakable acts to them. When parents started catching on, they’d cryptically ask other parents, “Do you know the muffin man?” Eventually the London police did get him. But decades later, that cryptic question eventually became a children’s nursery rhyme here in America. That’s pretty twisted!

Omfg I actually sang that song in chorus in the 5th grade. It’s basically this kid telling this ladybug they found that there’s a spider at its home, preying on its children because he wants so see it fly away and see it’s wings. The way she sang it is not at all how it’s supposed to found though. It’s a much slower song, and is sung in German! :D
