@mariaprice5084 жыл бұрын
@@agnidas5816 I worked as a public school music teacher for 2 years where I attempted to teach audiation to students (about 500 in total) ages 3 - 11. All I can say is...try it yourself for a year. You will find your answer soon enough. Adults are easy to teach because usually, if they come to you, they are looking to learn. When you're teaching music in a public school, half your job ends up being behavior management and crowd control unfortunately. In public school music classes, many students not only have no interest in learning, but they also are intent on disrupting the class and making it a chaotic experience for others too.

My mum not knowing or thinking any better signed her up to a trial... Which she completely forgot about 7 days later. I’ve said this in another ad video: As a person who’s learning RCM ARCT and played for more than 10 years, I can say that if you want to learn piano seriously, simply piano will not be much help. First of all, most pop songs are fairly easy to play and will not make you improve as quickly as learning classical songs that require both hands. In addition, I see that simply piano scrolls by itself and for me, it feels unnatural and people usually learn from a printed score or just download the score on imslp (a great website!) and project it from your iPad. The greatest tip for you guys is to buy a repertoire book: it costs about the same as you would buy for simply piano. Learn all or most the songs and progress up when you feel ready. This is honestly the best way to start, and for intermediate people playing simply piano, I would estimate an RCM grade level of 4 or 5. You can argue YES simply piano helps with your sight reading, but as soon as you are able to read notes fairly easily, I urge you to transition, because trust me, you will improve far more from learning classical songs. Edit: There’s also the musical/expressive element to playing and it looks to me that the app only runs from beginning to end, which is not an effective practice method.
@alech94184 жыл бұрын
Agree with the aspect that most pop is too easy to play. I do enjoy playing classical but I personally like soundtrack music alot too. Especially Animenz pieces (if you don't know who he is he has a youtube channel of anime soundtracks played on piano) use a ton of classical techniques, but are a little more fun to play (lots of syncopation & polyrhythms).

The idea of a kid who spends all their time on a tablet is gonna learn piano because of some app is like saying they're gonna learn maths because the tablet has a calculator app, it just doesn't compute with reality
@thaspongebob2 жыл бұрын
This analogy doesn't work. It's more like a book about counting numbers and basic sums, claiming to be a book about math. It certainly isn't, but it's definitely a start. Simply piano does teach you chords, scales, etc. It also costs less than 50 dollars a year, pretty good value for your money imho
