Whatever you need a website for, create yours today with Wix: www.wix.com/go/infographics
What are some of the most disturbing wikipedia pages? As you probably know, a wiki is a website which consists of collaborations of people modifying content. The most popular of these sites is none other than Wikipedia. It was launched on January 15, 2001, by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger. The former once said, “Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge. That's what we're doing.” And they did a good job. You can find 301 languages on Wikipedia, but the English language version is easily the biggest. Right now, in English you can find 5.7 million articles, and 46 million pages, which have been edited 860 million times and looked at by 1,203 admins. It’s not surprising then, that there’s some weird stuff you can find on Wikipedia. And that’s what we’ll look at today, in this episode of the Infographics Show, the Scariest Wikipedia articles.

The spoken words at 11:00 say just "When he got home he attacked his wife, the police found him in the street..." The English subtitles say (at 11:15) "When he got home he attacked his wife, tearing out her eyes, her tongue, most of her face in fact, and beating her so bad she died." I think someone forgot to sync the subs with the final cut of the video FYI 😆

Its more personally disturbing. Can you imagine just waking up one day, and having forgotten so much of your life you don't even know how old you are? Did you have a spouse, kids, loved ones, did they care you were gone? etc etc. Its terrifying because of the existential conundrum it proposes, memories and experiences are the things that make us who we are, so who are you when you take those things away, are you still you, or are you someone else entirely?

The unabomber, Theodore J. Kaczynski, was subject to project MkUltra while attending Harvard University, he was young, 16 I believe, during his freshman year. How it went was a professor would engage with him about his deep personal beliefs, they would just talk, talk about what he thought about himself, the world, and other people, regular philosophical conversation. Little did he know it was all recorded and given to a panel of adults. At certain meetings they would strap him down and have a crowd of intelligent higher ups ridicule him to his face. Tell him he's cruel, stupid, disgusting, childish, foolish, telling him he was weak, and a sub-human betamale. The "experiment" was trying to see the effects social stress on the human mind, and if you could exploit it. It greatly contributed to his ideas and actions that lead him to sending mail bombs.

MKUltra was actually a pretty major part of Stranger Things. 11's mom was a test subject and when 11 was born, so was she. Number 8 was older than 11 and escaped the lab earlier. While escaping, 11 accidentally released a Demogorgon into our world starting the 1st season.

The fact that they didn't stay together too - all of the bodies were found very far from each other. I recommend looking more into it!
