Till is 100% immersed in the character of Fritzel in this performance. Disturbing is the word for it and even if you question the morality of composing a song about such a case, I think that we have to accept that monsters like Fritzel walk among us. The part that always chills me is when he sings "....for eternity. Welcome to reality.". It sums up what must have seemed like the hopelessness of the situation that Elizabeth and her children were in. Dark, disturbing, heavy but a stunning performance. No pyro was used out of respect for the victim(s) Till is more than just a singer he is a true artist..he imerses himself and becomes one with the character he is portraying. In an interview in 2018 Richard Kruspe (lead guitarist) said "He’s a damn extreme human being, He gets very deep into situations where I cannot follow him. All he does is very extreme; I don’t know anyone else who does that.”

Rammstein or their management found a way to contact Elisabeth and asked her for permission to publish this song. Personally, I think this is very respectful to the victims. The song "Mein Teil" is also about a real crime, in 2001 2 men arranged to meet. For years I had no idea what the song is about, as I'm generally not too interested in lyrics. Learning the story didn't make me feel guilty for headbanging to a song about such a dark and disturbing story. I feel like the aggression in the sound is directed against Fritzel and people like him.
