Pedal pushers or skimmers that fall just under the knee is a better, more modest option than a skort that isn’t flattering on lumpy thighs, and if your bum is large, the back will expose more thigh as the butt will lift the back fabric making the skort look shorter in the back. AND, they’re definitely not SUPER VERSATILE because it’s very difficult to find skorts that are knee length so you can’t wear them to your job at the bank.

Nope. Sorry. Can't go along w/this. I turned 76 in April. I wore skorts when I was a kid. ....but not now. Skorts are short. The whole idea behind wearing crop pants is they cover most of the leg but not clear to the ankle which provides a way for air circulation to keep us cooler. There's no way I'm going to wear anything above the knees at this age, hon. Huh uh. Not happening. I do not have great legs. My husband does.....he wears shorts. His legs are shapely...not mine, unfortunately.

I think cropped ankle pants are better. Skorts are like a big band across your body, which if you have short legs, it makes them look even shorter.

So, ankle pants are different than capris. I like ankle pants on women. I hate capris. And if you are shorter, a skort in the right length would make your legs look longer, not shorter. Especially if you wear the right colored shoes.

Not me. I'm tall, and for the first 35 years of my life, all my pants were that length because they didn't come any longer. The style was to have pant legs to the ground or slightly above.And everyone and their neighbor thinking it was their job to comment on it. I still can't wear them without thinking they are too short for me, and I need length added. I wish I could, because some are quite cute.

I love cropped pants which ends right above the ankle bone. They are more flattering and you can wear wedge shoes or block heel shoes which are my favs. I wear capris or shorts around the house but never out. If I go out I wear crops with a nice top or I wear a sundress or shirt with top 5:41

I am more pear-shaped and used to wear skorts. I think they look better on people whose bodies are apple shaped or hourglass, but not those bigger on the bottom. Wider-leg Capris look great on my body type. Now they come in light fabrics, too. Culottes/palazzo pants as well.

My legs are heavy and the skorts aren’t flattering on me. In the summer I wear light weight ankle slacks. I do wear a summer dress and if it’s sleeveless l add a a light sweater or jacket to cover my arms. I’m 68 and petite.

I’ve had jobs where they really came in handy because I could dress them up or if I had a job that was hands on, I could still work and not worry about anyone seeing anything! I suggest you try them! I do like Skorts sometimes, but find if you don’t tuck your top into a skort you look square like sponge Bob SquarePants. I like a flowing top in summer so it doesn’t work for me. Certain Capris, the right length and the right width with work great . It depends on the individual body.

I'd say you have the wrong style or size of top if you are having that issue. In my video, I was wearing a skort and I promise I didn't look like a squarepants. I'm not in your closet helping you get dressed, so you can wear what you want. But ... if you were to take a selfie in two outfits that fit and flatter - one with a skort and one with capris - the skort will win every time.

I’m fairly tall; buying clothes is zero fun. Capris hit me just right under the knee. Pants are always a seamstress demand. Long sleeve tops are never reaching my wrist and so on. Capris work so well for me as they do not bring on sweating.

I can't wear cropped ankle pants because I'm too short! I have recently watched several of these videos saying older women shouldn't wear cropped pants. Now to hear that skorts, of all things, is better? I don't wear skorts for the same reason I don't wear shorts. They're too short!! I try to buy the "skimmer" length but they're getting harder to find. I won't wear long pants in the summer either because they're too hot! I actually prefer to stick to long dresses in the summer! Much cooler and I constantly get compliments on them!

I wear skorts but I've also found another option! Rip skirt Hawaii makes a wrap skirt that I wear bike shorts under. Sometimes skorts don't hang quite right with the attached shorts so this is a good option! Check it out! They are very forgiving!

I am 65 not the best legs so not a fan of shorts. I found a few years ago the athletic skort. Life changer. I can wear sneakers or sandals all kinds of shirts. Capris to me age you. Nothing says frumpy like capris. Of course it is everyone’s choice. I like to look more modern and the skort works. I have found loose linen pants will also keep me cool when I want more coverage. Hi Kelly. New subscriber here. I wear capri pants because I want a bottom that goes below my knees. I am not comfortable showing very much of my legs. Plus, I'm a teacher and we are required to have coverage to the knees. I do, however, agree that skorts are a great option for most women.

Love capris. It depends on the length and fit. I like what used to be called pedal pushers, just a little below the knee and slim fit. I think those look best and go better with tops than do skorts. I have one skort I got because the shorts were a thin tricot and not tight or heavier knit fabric. I don't really like the feel of shorts under a skirt. I wear the skort occasionally. I wore skorts more when I was very young, but they looked like shorts in the back with a skirt flap in the front.

It's going to depend on your body type. Flippy skorts work on certain body types better. The straight is universally flattering on all body types, which is why I recommended it.

I still want to try them now that we’re in the middle of a heat wave & in 95° weather no one is looking. I also didn’t break the bank shopping at K***’s with discounts. I think in this heat they’ll be great for a change & running around town. However my best look for my heavy calves & unappealing legs are my lightweight leggings that slim my legs down. After reading these comments though, I might hang on to my capris that hit under my knees. I am a work in progress. But I think if I want to look my best, leggings & jeggings win. I would encourage you to take a selfie in the mirror and compare. Capris (the length you are talking about) isn’t flattering because it cuts off your leg line. Bermudas (which end right above the knee) are a better option. And leggings aren’t pants. You have to wear an oversized shirt to cover them and that adds lots of visual weight.

@@AdoreYourWardrobe Thanks for your ideas but they just don’t work for my body type. I wear lightweight leggings with a shorter T-shirt /shirt that comes in at my waist. This works for me because I’m long waisted. I have taken photos with my leggings, jeggings, new skorts, & capris & my best look for my legs are the leggings & jeggings. I have a dozen pairs of black leggings & (jeggings)all thicknesses, styles, etc- some look better around the house/ grocery store & some look great for a night out. Also, some of my leggings have thicker material and aren’t as tight so they do look like pants. I’ve been in this body for 68 years & I know what looks good on me, I just can’t wear everything that’s in style like I did 40 years ago. I will wear my new skorts in 95° heat but I feel like a blob & I feel sexy in my leggings & jeggings. 😊

Don't like the extra layer of a skort--too hot in the summer. I wear capri pants when it's too soon for shorts. When I want a skirt, I wear a skirt.

Talk about frump! A skort is about as frumpy as you can get. Depending on the length you wear your capris makes a huge difference. Mine run just below my knee and as a 65 year old with short legs, this is actually much more flattering on me than a skort, long pants, or Bermuda shorts.

Finally … someone promoting skirts. I live in them in the summer. And like you said, a little self tanner helps the spider veins. Truthfully, no one cares about my legs and I prefer to be cool and comfy. I’ve worn skirts for the past 5-6 years and I’m now mid 60’s.! Obviously you gotta wear what makes you comfortable but I do want to look somewhat youthful and stylish and the skort helps me do that !😊

I’m 75 and discovered skorts a couple years ago because I wanted something with a secure phone pocket to wear in hot weather… my favorite hits just above the knee and has pockets in the skirt and a secret pocket in the shorts just right for my small phone. & I love that I can sit in a car and the backs of my thighs are protected from HotSeat. I wear pedal pushers too, but never flared bottom pants that flop around my lower calf. My generation loved bell bottoms but LONG. preferably with wedge heels! (I called them kissing shoes)
