The reason why we fail is because we do not have systems in place to help us reach out goals. Brute force and sheer will power will only take you so far.
The most common example I see is with weight loss. When we try to change our body composition. When we try to gain muscle and lose fat in order to get "lean" and get may people struggle with losing and gaining the same 10 lbs? The same question could be applied towards life goals. Why do I start and never finish projects? Why am I not making more sales? Getting more view/followers?
It all comes down to habits. Setting up habits so things get done when we do not have the motivation. WE CAN DO IT!

I just found you but let me tell you why you’re the best channel. 1. You are honest with we’re you are in your life. 2. Your house is a home and it looks lived in, not like a magazine picture 3. You bring reality to the forefront I have 2 under 2 and my life is a shitshow. I’m every aspect it’s a shit show and you are the only KZbinr that has real life job and is honest about how life is for you.

Hi Jenny, Thanks for your videos/content and for keeping it real!! Long time follower but first comment ;) I'm a clinical psychologist, mom of 2 littles (2 and 7), and married to an anesthesiologist w/ ADHD. Also am super anxious, and also a petite woman (ongoing weight/body struggles!). We have a crazy life with lots of ups and downs. More downs lately. Just broke down/cried in front of my kids and husband about 15 min ago (again! :-/). So I can def relate to trying over and over again to "keep on trucking" despite your own stresses and struggles. Just wanted to say thank you, you're doing awesome, and that I see you and feel you!

I hope you’re feeling better. Life can so overwhelming sometimes. I think I’ve been struggling for a long time so I actually signed up for therapy. Had my first session last week and it has been so helpful.

You're not alone sister. I could have made the same video last week. It's agony being a high achiever people pleaser that asks " Now what?!" My dear, you once said you are creative but went to Medschool to make mom happy. Sweet Jenny, you are lost right nown bc you've spent so much time quieting your own desires to make mom proud. WHAT MATTERS TO YOU? Creative Jen can come out to play. Go back and find her, tapnin to playing with the boys to fight to bring your inner child back out. She's waiting for you. Love from TX!

Hi Jenny! Happy belated b day to London! At work we don't have the quick feedback system the school env provides but you are doing great! I have a boy London's age so would love to see your thoughts on pre K, Kindergarten, public school vs private school system if you have time!
@drjennale
@drjennale Жыл бұрын
With private schools - there’s just more opportunity for your child to advance. With the public system (at least where we are) they do not have enough support or resources to provide your child even if they are learning ahead of schedule. Pre school really helped my kids transition to school very well. Not just academically but socially as well.

I'm 59 and just now realizing I probably have undiagnosed ADHD. Both of my adult daughters were diagnosed and everything they struggle with is the same for me. I didn't realize it looked different for girls than boys. I've bought so many planners in my lifetime and set so many alarms on my phone, but the best results for me happen when I set micro goals and practice habit stacking. I still procrastinate anything that hasn't been habit stacked. I'm retired, so I actually have more time, but it's still a struggle because of my executive dysfunction with starting and fully carrying out new tasks. I can only keep so many plates spinning: the ones that are spinning are spinning great, but the rest only ever wobble and then fall to be a broke mess. However, I have far more of my basic life organized and running than I did when I was a young mom with a career. Mostly, it's been the accumulation of stacked habits, but also it's that I'm not managing four little people's lives as well as my own. On reading: I keep saying I'm gonna read Sanderson, but I've only managed his completing novels in the Wheel of Time series. He's my son's favorite author so one of these days I will finally read him.

That is so true about the plate spinning! Describes what I feel into words so perfectly. I’m doing to start habit stacking … just need to figure out which habits to stack 😅

Do you really have adhd? Certain classes are really difficult to me and I don’t know how to manage my symptoms while I’m in college. Did or do you take meds? How did you make it through school?
@drjennale
@drjennale Жыл бұрын
Definitely talk to your doctor. Medications help you focus but you can very often focus on other things too and not study 😅 but!! Medications can be lift changing for most. I find the Pomodoro method works best for me. Where are you Study 25 minutes on and five minute break. More or less time, depending on how long you can focus for. I also took a lot of breaks because there’s no point in hitting your head against the wall when you know you’re not retaining anything. I also learned in medical school that it’s rather information retrieval that helps you on test rather than information retention. That means that it’s better to do test questions and study in a way that you’re answering questions rather than just reading and re-writing notes. Study smarter, not harder!

Thank you for sharing as always. I think sometimes we get so caught up in I gotta do the next thing, the next goal. Infinite growth doesn't always have to be the goal. Sometimes just maintaining, or organizing a little so you can maintain is good. That is a great place to be. So, give yourself grace. You can only hustle for so long before mind and body hit the brakes! Also, I loved War Breaker if you like that author. Haven't read his stuff since college, but maybe need to revisit. 😊

Hi Jenny, long time viewer here but have never commented! It’s so good to see you post, I’m always excited to watch your videos. In terms to being on top of things, I have no advice to give because I’m in the same boat myself, so I can relate. Currently going through a really painful breakup and I’m starting a masters program this fall! I’m working on myself but I hope I’ll get it together on time and be able to focus 🤞🏼🫣
