I can relate to this !! After so much shit I never thought I'd go thru , just gave her my house on the Kemp Lake in Tx. Only time I let myself care after what I saw growing up. Different time and place may have been good. Sometimes it's 51% vs.49%. But you'll never make it if either person thinks you can "Have you're cake and eat it to". Love can be a "hell of a drug" as Rick James said about Cocaine. Unfortunately Cocaine in the late 70"s was my obsession. But in 94 to2000 I didn't touch that.

It is both super rad and incredibly disappointing that bands from the Pacific Northwest and Canada are doing southern gothic folk better than southerners. That’s not at all to say they should stop, though. Keep up the spooky banjo riffs!

southern gothic folk....wow there is no better expression of what it is they have introduced proudly to the masses, dark and twisted with a hint of sarcasm a pinch of satire and a dash of monotheism, well done, dead sons, i mean south, south!

to me music is a feeling not a location. Blues started in the south but was perfected in Chicago. but to me good blues is good blues. these guys just have to right stuff for it.

These guys are from Saskatchewan. They are sown from the same cloth as your " southern gothic " as you call them ! Do not disrespect them by implying that bands from the south are naturally better by the virtue of being from the south ! These guys are for real !
