Love the song, favorite for the moment. A great music video and the live performance from Symfonic Synergy is amazing with the full orchestra. Way grander live. And there are a lyric video too that are really well done. So there are three great official videos for this song, Love it 😁.

Music gives me much joy, always has done. I never ever took drugs even in my early years, I always said music was my drug. There are two other videos for this song which are worth checking out. The live version at their recent Symphonic Synergy concert with full orchestra and choir plus, there is a lyric video which uses imagery from Tarot cards which I believe inspired the lyrics.

Ahhhhhh, thanks for answering my question in video, Mike. I like your symbolism on music being your drug. Awesome! Thanks for other variation song suggestions, and for commenting. 😏

Hello Tazzz, thanks for the reaction!!! I'm glad you liked it. Simone Simons is a singer I really appreciate. Her first solo album "Vermillion" is one of the albums of 2024 for me. The title "Arcana" (Latin for "secrets") already sets the tone, which deals with hidden truths and metaphysical topics. It suggests a search for deeper knowledge or insights. The song could describe the process of self-knowledge or the revelation of cosmic secrets. The duality between light and dark, knowledge and ignorance, a spiritual journey into unknown areas that are both dangerous and enlightening. This fits with the idea that the hidden is often associated with risks and challenges. This is taken up by the music, an antagonism of symphonic bombast pushing the boundaries with choirs and powerful metal parts, quiet passages and their dynamic counterparts, and the classically oriented opera singing with the counterpart of the crowls. The band describes that the song was written in a very short time, starting with a demonstration of tarot card reading.

THERE U R! 😏 Ahhhhhh, ok...secrets. That title does pair well with how you just described your perspective. All makes sense to me. Very cerebral mindset Epica has, in choosing their lyrics and imagery. I am happy you enjoyed. Ur welcome, Sir. YAY, i was correct with her name...I wasnt sure since it's been awhile. 🤔 I wonder do all Epica fans also love, Nightwish, or is it night and day to them? For ME, Epica sounds a little more symphonic. I loved Nightwish MORE when Marko was there....but they still held there own. How about YOU? You love one band more over other? I am all 👂👂👂👂

@@tazzznphilly It's a difficult question as to whether I like one of the bands more. If you break it down to the smallest common denominator, harder growls, philosophical lyrics that often explore metaphysical ideas and take a stronger intellectual approach (EPICA), or more melodic, emotional approaches and lyrics that also take a spiritual approach, but more often address nature, fantasy and personal topics (Nightwish), Nightwish is closer to me in terms of the themes, but in terms of the overall conceptual implementation, especially the musical one, Epica is closer to me. I personally don't know anyone who is a fan of one band and doesn't like the other. It may be that there are those types of fans, but I don't know anyone. I have the impression that the preference for one band is related to the charismatic front women, Simone Simons or Floor Jansen (and previously Tarja Turunen). But that doesn't mean that you reject the others.

@@perrosol-sm Doesn't seem like a difficult question, since you broke it down and answered it PERFECTLY. 😏 Thanks for the juxtaposition of the two bands, Michael. ~ Tazzz ~

What music means to me? I will andwer your question with a quote of John Miles who had a song named Music: 'Music was my first love and it will be my last - music is the future and it will be the past. If you want to listen to it in case you didn't know that classics: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZOZiaeve7OUra8 Greetings from Germany
