My first show was on the justice tour Faith no more was opening up for them they got Booed off the stage after the second song all you could hear was the crowd Chanting METALLICA, METALLICA, METALLICA THEY WERE SO LOUD BACK THEN MY EARS RUNG FOR A WEEK BUT IT MADE ME SMILE BECAUSE I JUST SEEN THE BADDEST MOTHERFUCKERS on THE PLANET I HAVE ONLY SEEN THEM 11 times more please if you're a fan you no how many times you have seen them or you can't count 😅🤘🇺🇲🇺🇲🤘

Legendary and largest Monsters of Rock Festival in history. Metallica performed at a military airfield in Moscow together with AC/DC, Panterra and The Black Crowes. This event remains a milestone, not only in the history of Metallica, but also in the cultural development of Russia after the Cold War. Metallica were on tour after the release of the so-called Black Album. The Black Album was the absolute peak of their commercial but also artistic success. With hits like Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, Sad But True and The Unforgiven, Metallica reached a global audience far beyond the metal community. Yes, they have a large fan base, but this alone does not explain the great attention. Performances by western rock groups would have been unthinkable shortly before, but now in the light of "glasnost" and "perestroika" they are a reality. Music fans were able to live out what they had previously learned from third parties and what was officially undesirable. A month earlier, the August Putsch by communist cadres failed, which led to the collapse of the USSR about three months later and, although it failed, effectively meant the end of Mikhail Gorbachow. By the way, the police forces deployed are said to have not been very gentle with the fans.
