Good video. It reflects on many mistakes Jamie players (such as myself) often make. Here's what I've learned so far by playing Jamie. I've been playing Jamie with Masters on the rank of 1700-1800 and I've learned that Street Fighter (any many other fighting games of course) is a game of reactions, if you just press buttons or execute moves without thinking, you will get punished. The trick with the dive kick is to properly measure the distance. You have to know when you use Light, Medium or Hard depending on the distance, if you do it right you won't get punished. OD dive kick is also a good move to close the gap with your opponent because it's safe. It also pays to think more about what your opponent will do and less on what you want to do. Specially in ranked, if you learn to properly read what type of opponent you're facing, you'll have a better chance against him. If you know your opponent is hasty then you wait for him to make the first move and you punish him accordingly, if he plays too defensively then you pressure him hard with shimmies and frame traps. And as always, the best tool for your char is to know how to optimize your combos. It amazes me how I'm on Master rank since the first week the game came out and I still have a few things to learn about Jamie from you who's on Gold rank (I don't mean to sound like a jerk). It shows how much you've studied the game, I just hope that some day you gain the experience to make proper use of that knowledge, and maybe even overcome your nervousness on ranked matched haha. Anyway, love your videos as always.

Good job on recognizing the DP spam from the opponent and adapting. Recognizing a pattern on your opponent's wake-up and getting the right read is one of the most satisfying things about fighting games.

Thanks for uploading your match analysis! I'm just getting back into SF, so seeing the intent behind using a specific move is helpful. I'm not that high up so I just unga bunga DR hp. Explaining your thought process when you're OP neutral jumps has been really helpful.

Niceeee! I love when people review their matches, if it helps at all try to lab out the light conversions to LK DP, even in midscreen you can dash twice and put them in a strike throw situation, same thing with LK Bakai they are also a safe jump which if you get creative with it its really tricky not to get hit. Keep up that jamie!

Awesome video! So nice to see what other players are struggling with Jamie. Personally don't think wiffing od divekick is always a bad decision, on higher ranks you can use it to bait out dps or to safely approach If It is spaced right, since It leaves you +1.

Thank you!! It's definitely not bad to use that way. In my case I use it often without thinking about its purpose so I warn not to do what I do haha.

I'm still don't have that kind of execution to do those divekicks, and I kinda have brain fog mid match trying to understand what combo should I use and what my drink level is, but I'm enjoying this type of video, keep it up!

Funny stuff, a lot, and I mean A TON OF A LOT, people that I match tend to wake up OD reversal. I feel so dumb when it's my first match and they do one wake up OD reversal and it hits me, but then I just know it's almost going to be the same over and over until they are out of Drive Gauge
@_kmiyako_
@_kmiyako_ 4 ай бұрын
Yeah, it does seem that way. I also reversal a lot only if they keep going for it though. If it works, I won't fix it xD

You said you don't think while you play but watching this and your other videos you're actually very conscious while you play. What your talking about when you went for the sweep instead of a kill combo is something that happens to everyone no matter what level you're at. Even for pros when it's a very high intensity situation muscle memory can just kick in. It's also important to remember that going for the safe option isn't anyways bad like if you had gone for the combo, meter dumped and then dropped it without killing you would've been in a much worse situation.
