Such a shame that Level 42 are only ever associated with this song and their other hits. This band is still touring now into their 40th year. Mark king is recognised as 1 of the best bass players on the planet and they started the BritFunk movement in the 80s. They're amazing.

How about you break the cycle then and suggest some of their lesser known songs that has touched you?

Not only did I grow up with it, Michael David's falsetto ranks up there with my mother's own voice

I appreciate your sincere honesty and you have a good sense of humor both of you. I'm glad you both liked this song. It was a song that I grew up with and it brought a tear to my eye hearing it again and seeing your reactions both of you. Thanks! God bless you both!

I haven't heard this song in a long time and while I have always liked and appreciated it I never really took the time to listen closely to the lyrics or even read them. This is really a wonderfully poetic and lyrically brilliant song that I never really noticed before today. Thank you Kirti and Savio for showcasing this song today and reminding someone that prides themselves on being somewhat musically aware that there is still so much that can be learned from looking at songs (and so many other things in life as well) from different and unique perspectives.

It's the bass. The bass guitar. When CDs first came out I was told, 'You've gotta hear LEVEL 42 on digital.' I had a brand new CD player so what did I do? I went out and bought this on vinyl. It was so not my kind of music (I was and am Rock) but I loved this song for the bass. Still do. Shaanti.

The sound is typical of a lot of bands in the 1980s - . gated drums, processed instrumentals. Wang Chung is a similar sounding band. INXS too. I like this sound and I appreciate your opinions.

And now we save the processing for the voice parts, Autotune.
