I’m excited to bring you another episode from our series Revelations- where featured artists go deep on their greatest songs. several months ago we had an amazing breakdown of one of my favorite songs ever: Something About You by Level 42’s Mike Lindup. He played us the song part by part and explained the recording and make up of the song and it was amazing. It you saw that, you’ll want to see part 2 of his zoom interview. On this installment of Revelations, Mike Lindup takes us through Level 42’s follow up to Something About You. Lessons in Love It was a single that was released right after and it had an immediate impact going to the charts in about every part of the world including hitting #12 here in the states and #3 in the UK as well as #1 in Spain, Sweden, South Africa, Germany and Finland. Lessons in Love is a hidden gem of the 80s that you don’t hear nearly as often anymore but is as good as envying that came from that wonderful year of 87. and one you’ll appreciate so much more after this story and musical walk though from Mike, you’ll find yourself adding it to your permanent playlist.
As we go into this interview I want to thank our sponsor Zenni Eyewear my favorite frames ever. You’ll want to go to Zenni.com and design your own and do a virtual 3D try on to see how you look before you buy. Here’s Mike with the story:
