I love this wreck! I did this after my training as my first “fun” technical dive. I absolutely loved it. We ended up planning our dive for 50ish metres using regular air and EANx50 as our deco gas. When we got down to the wreck, we stayed above it and swam around the conning tower and the submarine. We also saw a moray eel longer than 2 metres below the bow! Once our dive time was up we ascended on the line and I got a beautiful shot of our team ascending above, and a beautiful shot of the wreck below. I would highly recommend it, it’s a beautiful wreck.

My wife and I dived the Stubborn about 18 years ago. I'm absolutely amazed how much she has deteriorated in that time! The conning tower is almost "see through" towards the back and she is becoming skeletal in places ! When we dived her she was much more intact with no gaping holes at all. This was one of my top ten dives despite the fact we have dived Bikini Atoll AND Truk Lagoon so it's a little sad to see her beginning to fall apart now...
@DiveSAGA15 күн бұрын
@@martinjf467 unfortunately that's irreversible. But in a way it's comforting that she'll be returned to the sea!

@@DiveSAGA it looked like it was quite hazy and rather dark on your dive from the look of the video. We were INCREDIBLY lucky on our dive - we had 30 metres viz and loads of light, and could see her from end to end. We had a bizarre thing going on though - there was a sound not unlike a strobe charging up but much lower in frequency. It kept happening every few minutes. After the dive the boat skipper told us he thought it was sperm whales in the "deep channel" (?) between Malta and Sicily as they search for squid! I'm sad to report though that we went back to Malta a year later with rebos specifically to dive her again and we were let down by the dive shop who were dishonest a-holes! Promised dives booked ahead never happened because they cancelled us over and over again to take out more cost effective boat loads of novices - that despite firm bookings paid for in advance! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, we CERTAINLY did!

I tend to avoid posting exact deco schedules so people don't replicate without training, but more or less 25 minutes bottom time and hour dive time. Tmx18/35 bottom gas and 50% deco gas!

@@DiveSAGAquestion, why just eanx50 and not add a 100% o2 stage? Staying light or oxygen toxicity concerns due to the difficulty of dive?
@DiveSAGA3 ай бұрын
@@sUroJAPAN yeah good observation! Because we knew there would be some current, especially near the surface, we figured we would keep PO2 lower, even if it took longer.
