Your requirements to the divi global options sounds to me similar to the global options seen in avada. I agree, the actual state of development is really cool. Some Items and functions are missing, but I'm quite confident, they will make step by step and we will have the DIVI5 release within this year.

Agreed with you about flexbox and css. Both need to be more accessible and have an intuitive interface. Being able to use css snippets more easily from previous sites you’ve built would be very helpful.
