Thank you for your very informative videos. I have struggled on and off for years to make these ornaments without success. I can't wait to go shopping to buy my supplies and start making some to be given as gifts

Thank you for the tip on how to make your own measurement. I purchased balls that are 2.8 inch and this helps so much!

Hi! I have a 5 balls that from my sister. I appreciate this to make your instructions. I don’t know how to find the equator? Thanks you, Jen

I have another video that will help you find the equator and poles on your ball if you don't have a marking for it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ-Vep-Eq9Fnibs

How do you make your segment shaped template for tracing and cutting your fabric pieces?
@TheOrnamentGirlАй бұрын
If you are working on a Kimekomi ornament, one thing you can try is marking your segments, and then laying a piece of plastic over the foam ball and tracing the segment onto the plastic. That will give you a rough shape. Just be sure to add extra before you cut your fabric so you have enough material to tuck.

How do you figure out how to cut material for say a 4 or 5 inch ball? I'd love to make some larger ornaments also.
@TheOrnamentGirl3 жыл бұрын
Hi Debra... I usually add about an inch, for every inch larger the foam ball is. You could actually get away with a little less than that, but that's a good overall rule of thumb. Another thing you can do is add more pieces to each layer.

Hi-my paper tape is SHORT of the foam ball, there is 1" difference short from the beginning pin.
@TheOrnamentGirl2 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry you are having trouble marking your ball! If you are using our foam guide and one of our foam balls, it should mark them perfectly. There is a square on the paper that should also measure 1" to make sure it prints correctly. You will want to be sure that your printer is printing the page at 100% as well.
