I also used your advice to do my research and review company track records and not pick a company I know nothing about. I also followed some of the chat on Webull from other investers. I finally made my pic two weeks ago. Today my account closed at $150.33 So because I am afraid to see my $100 turn into $99 I sold back $100 and am going to withdraw it when it settles.☹️🙈 But in the future I am going to build my portfolio. If you set up DRIP, the dividends a company pays you will be automatically used to purchase a fractional share of the same company. If you do not use DRIP, you can use the dividends you are paid to buy fractional shares of any company you wish. In the meantime, the dividend is just cash in your account.

Question, if you put 100 dollars into a stock that has 4% yield and they pay dividends quarterly, do you receive that 4 dollars quarterly or is that 4% broken down over the course of the whole year?
@anthonyblancett84493 жыл бұрын
Thats a really good question, the answer is the later of those 2. You would be paid out that 4% over the year which would then be broken down over the payout schedule, whether that be quarterly or monthly. So essentially, referencing your $100 example, you'd be paid out $4 in total over the year (not accounting for compound interest) VS. if you were paid out $4 quarterly, then you would ultimately be paid $16 over the year (again not accounting for compound interest) which would be a 16% dividend yield. Hope this helps! 👍🏽

Thank you Brian. You really make things so easy to understand. May I ask one more question: How do you receive money on your stocks if there are NO Dividends? (This is probably a silly question) However when this was introduced to me by my company....I didn't understand it at all. 🤪And truth be told that was 15 years ago. Thanks again Brian. Have a wonderful day and send my regards to the girls in your office. -Amber L. Aufdenberg

I hope you don't mind someone other than Brian answering, but I know he gets a lot of comments and may not see this one. The only way to make money on investments if they don't pay a dividend or distribution is to sell the stock for more money than you bought it for.

@@StockInvestmentAnalysis Hello. Thank you so much for answering m question. I felt silly even asking. Haha I thought that may have been it. However, I wanted to be 100% on that. Thanks again. Stay safe out there. 🌺🌻🏵️🌸

i got a 1:56 unskippable scam ad when i clicked on this video. Refreshing the page seemed to get rid of it thankfully.
