A very spicy video. One would say....it was an EXTRA SPICY video!

I really love your videos and find them extremely interesting. I'm not a Hellenic polytheist myself...I've been courting a more Norse path, but the way you go about sourcing information and how you utilize it can be widely applicable IMO. Please continue to upload new videos and thanks for all the great information. (Plus your videos are fun and entertaining too. 😁)

I have to say, Fel, it is so refreshing to watch videos that have had real research put into them and show sources. I love that you mention Schrodinger's cat! 😍 You really speak to my inner nerd on so many levels.

Thank you haha I really try to show my sources cause I'm always a bit bothered when folks don't so I can't check them. But also they're good info in case someone wants to take it a little farther!

I just recently started delving into Hellenic Polytheism and so far I'm enjoying it. I found your channel last night and have to say it is my favorite on the topic so far. Very informative, yet quirky and fun. And it definitely appeals to my inner nerd. Keep it up! As for this video in particular, I have two comments: 1. I noticed when you were discussing divination by statue and the NeoPlatonic views on that, it sparked your own "unexpected divination" as it were - it made you realize that your artistic offerings were perfect, even when you felt they were flawed. So maybe, just maybe...while you may not particularly agree with the NeoPlatonic ideals, perhaps the Gods were using them to speak to you? I just liked that in a discussion about types of divination, you inadvertently mentioned a divination of your own. 2. I don't care how it's actually pronounced - the reading of entrails will forever be known as extra-spicy in my mind. Hahahaha Anyway. Done rambling, and I look forward to seeing more!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊 And perhaps that was the case! I think the gods can speak to us through places we don't expect-I've had moments with victorian writing that have resonated with me, even though we all know how I feel about that 😂

Fascinating. I made myself a deck of cards, based on the Alphabet Oracle some years ago, & plan to revisit that. I might even make a wooden set sometime. I'm not sure what other materials would be appropriate. Any advice? Also, did the Ancient Greeks ever use pendulae/pendulums for divination?
@FeltheBlithe2 жыл бұрын
Pendulums are actually pretty spotty when it comes to divination for what we use them for (they were often used to find water or had some other aspect that gets left out). As for materials, whatever you like. I personally like wood and clay

So I’m honoring and worshiping Apollo, and Aphrodite. So I have a candle for them both and I’ve been worshipping Apollo since mid-August and I feel like he is ok with what I do with his candle, and he allows me to snuff it out when I need too, and he isn’t to strict, and I feel like I’m not offending him. Ive recently started to worship Aphrodite and I’m starting to think I shouldn’t snuff her candle as Im new to her and I don’t want to offend her… Is it rude to snuff out deity candles? Im not sure and I don’t want to make a wrong choice…
@FeltheBlithe3 жыл бұрын
The whole snuffing out vs blowing out is only a debate I became aware of this past year and have been doing either indiscriminately for years and have had no issue 🤷🏻 ultimately the decision is up to you. Nothing bad will happen if you snuff out a candle wrong, it Aphrodite doesn't like it, she will let you know either through intuition or signs.

I love your channel. Ty for your time. I guess it’s a great time in history to be a Hellenistic polytheist bcs not many ppl are into it so the gods can give each of us lots of attention hehe. Do you know of any communities we can join? I saw your 11 things I wish I’d known video and it mentions community and it would be great to find one

There are a couple discords around! I'd recommend seeking one of those out. Aliakai has one and there's also Hieros Elaionas.

scrying isn't seeing images that come from your thoughts while your looking into something, but is moving past your inner dialogue and see whats beyond you. thats why it's such a difficult (and not a popular) skill to learn is because you have to first recognize and see your inner dialogue (while looking into something) as well as have to move past it to actually be able to scry.

WHAT WILL I HAVE TO DO TO CONVERT INTO GREEK POLYTHEISM
@PrecariousPorcupine3 ай бұрын
Study the religion (read Hellenic Polytheism: Household Worship as a jumping off point) and then start practicing. There is no official conversion process or ritual, nor do you have to join a group

do you happen to know where the left and right thinking originates in hellenism? was it actually a thing there? because i´ve never seen that duality in nature.. there´s directions.. you can walk towards the sun, along the river.. there´s upwards, towards the sky, downwards, into the earth.. but to go left or right, i don´t think so, it must be late thinking. it seems to be one of those made up things (especially when connected to moral duality) or at the very least very human centric (as in left or right handed, left and right side of the body, brains, nerves and all that medical shit). i´ve noticed that there´s a big difference between customs that actually come from nature (as in living with nature) and those that have been developed by later human societies (often to escape or predict nature).. as a nature worshipper i´m mostly interested in the first category.. i consider most ritual magic as alien, unpure or completely unneeded.. it´s like using language, why would you use words when you can roar! (levels of pureness, levels of primalness, that´s how i think about it).
@joutavainen29203 жыл бұрын
i get the physical dimension.. the right hand is stronger and more precise than the left (except for the left handed) and thus it´s sort of natural to think the left as being "worse" than the right.. what feels unnatural (to me) is to extend that kind of thinking to everything, especially when it seems to be a late trait in human "evolution" (you don´t see any weak handed animals do you). it´s probably just the human centeredness that bothers me.. because even when they did ritual turns (in my culture) they always turned "with the sun" or "against the sun" (or "with the moon" in night rituals, never left or right). another good example are the rivers.. they always said "that side" or "this side" (never right or left).. also all the words for left seem to be loan words (which means that they´re of late / foreign origin). from there alone i could argue that we probably never even had a left hand, but two right ones! (why would anyone want a weaker hand, ridicilous) so instead of arguing what´s "left handed" or "right handed" just teach your kids to be ambidextrous! (you can probably tell i walk the middle myself, we´re the most practical of all the witches)

From what I've looked up, in regards to ornithomancy (bird divination) at least, left was negative and right positive as the person doing the divination faced the north, and so the east (rising sun) would be to their right and the west (setting sun) to their left.
@joutavainen29203 жыл бұрын
thanks for answering.. it´s much more logical when it´s the directions of the sun.. it´s in line with the whole outwards way of seeing the world, i like it!
