I'm thinking of taking a break until the next season. I got my mount and achievement on my main, but too many groups now on my alt that just expect me to do everything alone. Not just the healing, but the cc and dispell afixes too. And too many have the nerve to then blame me for not dispelling them, when it's on cooldown because the just made me dispell the affix alone. I'm starting to think 'fuck them, roll your own healer or die of boredom in a queue'.

As a healer, i really enjoy pallys for this utility and healing help. Healing is really hard this season, mainly because dps don't care about mechanics so a little help is always glady accepted !

I'm only doing +9's at the moment but I find myself throwing heals around to help the healers as much as I can. Biggest person I tend to heal with things go sideways actually ends up being the healers because they aren't watching their own health bars.

I haven't played this season due to working too much, but I was always about 50/50 about it. When the DPS is able to pick up the slack from people off-healing, it's fine. If we're missing DPS checks because there is (unnecessary?) offhealing... That's another case. So basically, it depends on the situation, I guess? :)

Paladin utility like BoP/Freedom/Lay always welcome as a healer, but in the high keys the faster mobs die the less damage they can do. A good healer should know whether they've got someone covered or not, and in a sub 20s pug environment i'd just have faith in the healer to pull through and focus on your own throughput.

I finally got to try the UI you're using. Absolutely amazing. Fixed every issue ive ever had with ELVUI. Also, because of you I finally gave Ret Paladin a shot and it is the MOST fun leveling experience ive ever had. Its so good im actually taking it slow and reading quest text for the first time ever. Also, im finally breaking the habit of using rotation helpers (Hekili) and Zygor quest arrows. Im actually using my brain now and it feels amazing to play WOW.

just a minor thing about halls of infusion, you can quickly freedom yourself and another person to remove the dot debuff from the dragons in the second half of the dungeon, helps out the healer a ton

I run in a push group that is currently doing 23s and above. We take the usual augvoker, bearboi and spriest with a fire mage. Honestly I feel like it is partially the DPS's job to aid with such things. Healer may be a healer but with the current healcheck of the season it's needed. The bear is something I suspect should be offhealing with insta-cast regrowths, spriest with VE, and 'voker with verdant embrace, but, only when it's necessary. Externals are a much bigger thing for me in my opinion, things that provide group-wide DR like mass barrier and zephyr. The healing is something I can do personally, especially as a hpala, but in general looking out for bigger damage instances with externals really makes my job much less annoying!

Having switch to my Evoker and playing with my team we instantly noticed the difference. We also have a Shadow Priest and our Tank likes to rotate between Guardian and BDK. Apart from that we have a Survival Hunter and MW Monk so a little different there :D. We cleared all 20's with some 22's in the first week and I started at 414 ilvl so it was pretty nuts. Zephyr is really nice along with the rest of the package, offers much more than my DH lol.

@@Dillisan Aye this is the thing, healers are not solely reliant on externals but you notice the difference massively, so I am sure some offhealing from you is a good thing just don't get into the habit of doing it too often, dps still matters and only really chime in with the healing for certain mechanics

Couple of tips as a fellow pally enjoyer. You can freedom the cling on the last vp boss, i always try and put it on a healer or rdps so they dont have to stop what they're doing, also clears the dot from the dragons in halls & last uldaman boss, unbound freedom talent very good for these so you get it as well. Shield of vengeance should be used frequently as it's also a damage increase, use it when you know you're getting hit by something esp on bosses. You had no defensives rolling for a couple of the tough spots in the video and the healthier you are the more the healer can focus on the others, we're very very tanky this season if def's are used right. Also BoP will be your friend for the squishier members for gashtooth, and the bleed on 3rd uldaman boss

As a healer main i dont mind off healing if it calls for it. Just random spot heals tho just waste your own dps. As a healer main i know if I need to top someone asap or if I can wait a few seconds. Push your own dps my man! Love the weekly vids ❤

Dillisan, I want to say thank you for the series! It's great! One tip I would like to give - if you haven't already figured it out - is to make sure you face your character properly when Divine Storming. In a couple clips in #1 and #2 vods I've seen you pull extra mobs with it. When you Divine Storm - thanks to a talent, you send a projectile out from your character. This can, and will pull mobs not in combat. :)

As a 2700io ret, I envy your trinket drops so much. I remember in season 1 when you said you wanted to try ret and I am happy you are enjoying it. A few notes: Above 17-18s, tank rotations and pulls doeasn't change much so it's up to the dps to have enough dps and not get oneshot. Your tank friend did great. On HOI dragons and last boss of Uldaman, your freedom stops the DOT and helps the healer a lot. You will almost never have as much single target dps as a dk in m+ if they are a bit competent. I would be happy to make an all pally dungeon of an 18 or something :D

I play retri, currently 444 (near 445) and struggle to get into 18's... I've got 2660 rating and currently have 8 20's in time (22 x2 and 1 x 21). The pugging scene for retri is fairly rough at the moment. Nice to see people trying it solo!

It's likely because of all these Rets that Dili plays with who are 440+ doing 60k overall in a key. It seems 90% of rets just don't know they have abilities to press. I tried my first +17 FH as ret (I'm a Prot main) at 446 iLvl and I did 187k overall, doing 100-110k on the bosses. How any 440+ Ret does below 120k overall in any key is beyond me.

for the pull onto raoul in freehold. the safest way is to wait for him to cast barrel smash then run over and tag the pack to bring them in. normally the tank will be back on the boss before he even moves and has no risk of leaving the arena and resetting.

A good tip to get some big chunky dps on the pally is to make sure you are always using Wake of Ashes with Final Reckoning or Execution sentence, they should like up with each other as long as you dont sit on their cooldowns

@@Dillisan The min quality you set is a threshold the crafter MUST be able to craft at otherwise the system won't let them accept/craft the order in the first place. So if you set it to rank 5 they must be able to craft it at rank 5 otherwise the system won't let them even attempt it. Only downside I've found, being the crafter myself, is if I'm aiming to use the inspire chance/recrafts til the item rng's into rank 5. In those cases you need to set the item to rank 4 as min since if you set it to rank 5 the system will again prevent the crafter from taking the order.

No as a healer I love when people help out. But an awful lot of players feel insulted by the idea of using their personal defenses or doing some self healing :D My personal favourite is when a hybrid class has a dispell and actually uses it. On themselves. I don´t even ask them to help dispelling other people.

Main healer at 3k rio full pugged, the group healing and using defensives is a must. If they don't, it's basically guaranteed deplete due to the amount of dmg. However they still have to do high dmg, so it's more about knowing how when why in order to maximize both damage done + healing, and reduce as much as possible the damage taken. The less the healer has to heal the smoother the run unless hpal which is healing basically like pre 25% buff to hp n dmg

Pugged to 3k, you are my hero! I'm still fairly new to M+ having only started properly in S1 so there are a lot of things I need to learn and understand, this was one of them. I feel like DPS should be doing all they can to help the group, not only the healer. But there are so many DPS that don't even use their defensives. I must admit, my sound pack has been super helpful at letting me know the best times to do so and that's saved my life many times.

I appreciate it when people start healing if everything goes south, but when I have nothing to do in the first place I prefer to be the only one focussed on healing so I dont waste my bigger spells like dreambreath or spiritblossom because they have a longer cast time. It can look like I let people drop too far but in reality I am basically trying to get as much use out of it as possible

i got KSM because of this guys videos and since i had mythic level pants from the vault i just picked up the elite warrior pvp shoulders because honestly im never gonna hit 1800 rating in pvp because i suck lol so its nice that i can now have an elite piece of pvp gear when the next season starts.

WoWhead explains stats for the generic build, though I use a Crusaders Strike build which you need more haste for. With gear most go for roughly 30% haste then aim for crit/vers for the rest. Mastery we avoid

I am a Ret main myself and in 95% of the time i dominate the other Ret in my Team no matter what ilvl he has I smoked a Single Target build 5ilv higher than me with my M+ build in LFR on an Boss without that much adds In generel some of the worst players i encountert played Ret and i got the feeling that the generall opinion is that Ret is not good because like no one can play them

As a healer, I despise healing groups that do not utilize defensive cds, self heals and whatnot. You have the abilty to help out, so why not do it like?

But but then the damage meter will tell me i'm bad at life :) As a fellow part time healer your 100% right there are way too many people that roll a "hybrid" class and then practically refuse to use the utility they have to help fellow party member.

Some healers have actually commented to say they get offended by our healing, I won't stop though. If the party needs it I will help, can't deal damage if the party is dead!

I guess it is just me but KSM and KSH are way too easy, the real challenge would be getting all the 20s in time for the portals, anyways i enjoy your videos ^^

For me personally, KSM isn't an issue. KSH on my healer (purely pugging), I would struggle at times as I lack confidence and it would be stressful. For a lot of players, KSM is hard and a lot don't even achieve it. There are many skill levels in WoW and too many players don't realise this because they are above average. I don't mind going for portals, not 3k though lol, I'll get those with the team xD

played many years balance druid was best for me so i can switch to heal or tank in raid if needed.... after 4 years break came back to my guild and said i can play what u need or want....well it was the Demon Hunter.... DH is very punishing if you mess up parts of your rotation, Ret is super forgiving! You should give it a go :) And yeah, Demon Hunters can often butt pull mobs like those pesky Hunters...but I don't wanna start beef with Demon Hunters so we'll keep that hush hush :D

It's just not me, it won't achieve anything and both myself and the crafter would probably just end up receiving abuse, I don't want that. I have never purchased WoW tokens but the amount of gold I'm spending this expansion I might consider it lol
