I dive a lot in Cozumel, Mexico. I will be moving to Southeast Asia in a couple of years. I am hoping the diving is as good, or better than it is in Mexico. A friend said that the reefs in Thailand are bleached. Hopefully other places in Southeast Asia are still great.

I have done Cozumel, Bonaire, Grand Cayman...then I did my dive in the Philippines...no comparison at all. The diving in the Philippines is just awesome. Be prepared for the explosion of colors and everything moving. Anilao in Batangas has some great diving and its easy to get to from Manila. But the Philippines has so much more to offer like Apo Reef, Nogas Island, Tubbataha (live aboard only), of course Malapascua just to name a few.

+Scuba Tom You absolutely have to experience diving in Lobo, Batangas in the Philippines to see the spectacular Malagundi Point Coral Wall & Lumbangan Underwater Cave both in the town of Lobo in Batangas. Just coordinate with the local government of Lobo before going there so they can assist you because it's a protected area. You can also try diving in Anilao which is also another great diving site in Batangas and only a few hours drive away from Manila. You also have to check out Apo Reef Natural Park in Mindoro Occidental. The seascapes of Linapacan, Palawan are just beautiful & you have to dive in Coron, Palawan to see some World War II shipwrecks. It's a bit challenging but I think it's every diver's dream to see the beautiful Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park in Palawan which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's truly worth it! Of course Monad Shoal in Malapascua is a must if you want to see the elusive thresher sharks! Just some useful tips if you're looking for some awesome diving locations in the Philippines!:-)

Yep they spoil you in the Philippines when you go diving. They do everything for you. All you need to do is get on board and dive. Very nice underwater shots. Those shots requires very good buoyancy control. Too bad no footage of the shark sightings. The reefs in the Philippines are just and explosion of colors and everything is moving.
