Had Zhou scored 8.0s or better, he would've scored enough to win gold even if Mitcham scored perfect 10s. Mitcham's last dive came in at the right time and at the perfect place to do it.

Yes, and also considering the pressure getting to the business end of the competition. I've always felt it was one of the greatest performances under pressure by an Australian in any sport ever.

If you do the math, Zhou's final dive would have secured gold if he had scored 8.0s or better. That tiny window he left for Mitcham opened the door for the Australian to deliver the one of the biggest upsets in recent Olympic history.

Out of all the great moments of the Beijing Olympics, Matthew Mitchem's incredible dive at the end to steal away the gold metal from China to prevent the Chinese sweep of diving was just awesome.

Yes China could have swept all the gold medals at stake in the 2008 summer Olympics at Beijing if not for Australia's sensation Matthew Mitcham whose last dive securing 112.10 dashed their hopes.China's Zhou Luxin who was expected to win the gold had to play second fiddle. Mind you Zhou had been expected to clinch the gold for China to complete the clean sweep.But it wasn't to be.But then Mitcham's win was good for the Olympics.
