DIVING THE JJCCR | Post Qualification Dive at The Delph Diving and Watersports Center | TDI CCR MOD1

After training to diver the JJCCR with Kieran Hatton - Diving In Depth - with the TDI Air Diluant Closed Circuit Rebreather course, this is my first open water dive. Together with Shot Gun Mike, Dangerous Barry and Big Kev, we smashed out an hour in the murky depths of Eccy Delph.
The biggest issue I face since picking up my new JJ is finding the balance and stability I once had on open circuit. I have also changed to a neoprene drysuit for winter warmth which is very effective but a huge difference to my usual trilaminate suit.

@@AndytheNorthernDiver I know what you mean, having someone who is willing to help you get that great shot and be patient whist you set up is a real challenge... but if you can find someone willing to help then it can really pay off, plus you get to feature in your own clips rather than everyone else!

What were your reasons for choosing the JJ over other CCRS, Andy? And where are you planning on diving with it for your first "proper" dive once you've got your hours up?

Firstly, the asthetics was what led me to look at it over all others, I think its easily the best looking unit out there. Second, the amount of top end divers using it made me go for it. Third, its range is certainly enough for me for quite some time. Fourth, was the instructor, Kieran and I got on very well not only on the podcast, but on the course. That for me was the most important thing - I want to enjoy my course and be able to get everything I can from it. The simplicity and quality of the build lends itself to my way of doing things, parts wise it uses Apeks valves which I can service. As far as planned dives the Canaries in Feb and Red Sea in June are all on the cards but so is Coronavirus so who knows!
