Diving the Maldives: Central & South Atolls [4k]

Two weeks of diving the Maldives in November 2020.
Atolls visited: North Male, South Male, North Ari, South Ari, Vaavu, Meemu, Thaa
Marine life encountered: manta rays, sting rays, eagle rays, marbled rays, porcupine rays, reef sharks, nurse sharks, guitarfish, green sea turtles, hawksbill sea turtles, trevallies, snappers, fusseliers, butterfly fish, squirrel fish, mantis shrimp, antheas, and many more.
Diving with Eco Pro Divers onboard the M/V Eco Blue.
Filmed with Sony RX100 VA, additional equipment by Inon, Nauticam, Fantasea and iTorch.

Thanks. The weather was good, some cloudy days and a some rain in between but mostly sunny and calm.

Great work. I was there a few weeks ago, shooting with a TG6. You got great color in that 20-30m range while I had a tough time with it. Is the white balance on the sony really good, or did you put in some good work on the post editing?

Thanks! I always use manual whitebalancing against a neutral slate, so the colors are usually good out of the camera already and I only have to do minor adjustments in post.

Thanks. There are a few great divesites in almost every atoll, so if your focus is on diving the best way to do it is via liveaboard, where you will visit several atolls and get to dive the best sites of each of them.

Great shots! It seems that marine life there is somewhat richer now than it was two year ago when I was there.

I can't compare it to the past, but I think lack of diving pressure in the last year and us being the only boat on almost all the divesites has helped quite a bit.
