This is a perfect showcase of specialization. These men are legendary world champions but they are just average guys when they are out of their element.
@semperludens92414 жыл бұрын
@@sauceyethan The video showcases that they wouldn't. An average beginnner diver is expected to at least be able to do a somersault off of the 5 meter platform, and an average beginner lifter is expected to at least press half their body weight. In China children get selected at a very young age for their potential in a certain sport, and then put through a sports university. Which means most athletes in China will be hyper specialized (in terms of training and body type).
@tomcheng6604 жыл бұрын
Mash Exactly, that dude doesn’t know what he’s talking about. World class athletes in their specific field are still a league above the average person in pretty much every other sport/field. I think I could beat either of these guys in table tennis and maybe basketball, but I’d probably get stomped in everything else lol
@semperludens92414 жыл бұрын
@@tomcheng660 You are quick in saying that I don't know what I'm talking about while maintaining the utmost confidence that you in fact DO. Very modest of you. You probably think athletes have an edge over average people because of the amount of training (or because you are from the US where average is leaning towards obese and sickly)? High level athletes, especially Chinese athletes are hyper specialized. Lu has incredible fast-twitch muscles, which makes him inherently weak in cardio and limits his flexibility far below the point of a regular less muscular person. An average person would have a large physical advantage over Lu in stamina and/or grace related sports, which is most of them.
@tomcheng6604 жыл бұрын
Semper Ludens Very modest of you to say all of that and still somehow try to assume my nationality. You have a point with the fast twitch muscle argument, but I guess we have different opinions on the capabilities of an average person and the various fields that they would compete in.
@ErrantChordier4 жыл бұрын
@@semperludens9241 not disputing your overall point, I quite agree on the whole, but FYI Lu Xiaojun is actually very flexible, as are most Olympic weightlifters. flexibility is not about muscle types but is mostly neurologic, even hulking bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman could do full splits. supposedly, Olympic style weightlifters' flexibility (not powerlifters) is second behind only gymnasts on average another interesting case of specialization is the huge difference between running jump off one foot and standing off two feet. there's a video "Im Körper der Topathleten" part 2 showing an Olympic high jump champion doing a two-legged standing jump and it's pretty bad. turns out that has no bearing on high jump.

To the people who talks about what Aisen was saying at 8:45: Aisen was speaking in Mandarin and he is from Guangzhou which is Cantonese zone. So he said “Na Ge(那个)” in Mandarin which means “like that” in English. I assume he was thinking which Mandarin word he should use next. Aisen used to say his English is not good. He may not know N-word. “Na Ge(那个)” is used very often in casual talk in China. Unfortunately it’s pronounced as the same as N-word in English. I never speak this word in English but learned it recently from a talk show on KZbin. Black friends may fell offended in China because so many Chinese people use “Na Ge, Na Ge, Na Ge” repeatedly when they are speaking and thinking. To Aisen if you can see, do not speak “Na Ge” even in a casual talk considering your international audience.
@maggiechan333 жыл бұрын
@Charles Xu Any non-Mandarin speaker should understand what context nei ga/na ga was spoken. It would be totally absurd for a gentleman like Chen, to employ an epithet in this situation, esp in front of a camera. If someone else said it, you would think that Olympics, would edit it out, before they upload the video. Chen is an excellent example of Cantonese Chinese; he has done everything well + he should not change for some paranoid + overly sensitive people.

I see so many dumb comments that Chen Aisen said the "N" word at 8:45 onwards. To those dummies, i just have to say 1) the world does not just revolve around american english. There are thousands of languages in the world, and similar sounding words do not mean the same thing. 2) these people are inherently racist because they use their own bigotry to judge a non-native english speaker. 3) Considering where this video is posted, if there are truly objectional languages being used, wouldn't you think that would have been censored? You just need a brain to realise it.
