Just started playing this for the first time. I definitely hit a slump at the beginning, I felt like every enemy was stronger than me and it felt impossible. I am in love with it now though! Fighting Evelyn was the game changer- I went into her lair, moved a ton of chairs and chest to create barricade on the stairs so that enemies would funnel into the room above, shot her with fire and retreated into my bunker. I took her out, then the minions, and it was so satisfying. I bet that whole interaction took 2 hours lol. I exit the lair, and pick of the staff of pergamon guys (including the invisible guys) one by one using my teleportation spells. I’m now leveled up adequately and am so excited to continue exploring this world. I have a love/hate relationship with quests being hard to find. Can’t wait to finish this, try dos2, then baldur’s gate 3!

Picked it up today and although i can tell it's a very good game, it's nearly impossible for me to get into it after playing BG3...I wish I would have known about this game when it first released...It's still a good game though...I'll keep it and save it for a rainy day...

this game was a total surprise to me. i was specting the typical dark and serious fantasy with some bits of humour but i was amazed to see that its actually full of silly moments and interactions and the world itself is a ton of fun

I played the sequel and I've been thinking avout getting this too. If I could bear playing through the sequel, I'll most likely be able to play this too. I didn't grow up with old school RPG's, I didn't even understand RPG's as a kid but I played some of them later on, I played Baldur's Gate for the first time in 2015 or 2016 and it got me into liking this style of RPG's.

@@adriaanolivier5984 Try just asking her. Start with simple co-op games like "It Takes Two" or the co-op Mario games & then grow from there. My wife like games like Ori & Animal crossing, & Sims. I recommend AC because I knew she liked Sims. Told he she should try out Ori, she ended up loving it. I'm trying to get her to play DOS2 with me. She hasn't bit yet but I'm working on her.

Maybe it’s me but I feel like the game is actually kinda hard Despite that I’m absolutely enjoying it The voice acting and dialogue is fantastic. It really makes you feel like your in a different time

this game is hard, its realy easy to ruin your build and soft lock yourself. plus the combat is verry unbalanced, every thing casts spells including some animals, and weakneses dont work like you would expect from other games. my first time playing on tactitian mode i got soft locked in the tutorial because there are only two builds that work on undead in that mode

CCs and summons are your best friends in the early game. knocked down, frozen, stunned enemies will have 100% hit chance against them and summons will soak up enemy attacks. Elemental arrows doesn't miss. Charm arrows are broken early game. If I remember correctly skeletons have damage mitigation against slashing and piercing weapons but received amplified damage against crushing weapons so they seem tanky in the early game with low level weapons

i got to sleeping village with epic encounters but there I stopped. I only got that far on calssic mode cause of mainly stealth cheesing too

My experience so far in tactician mode. Start a fight, miss the stun, miss the hit, die, load from save. Miss > die > load. Miss die load x 5. Oh yeah, Stun works, the hit didn't miss, and i won. boring AF combat. and a lot of information and dialogues, even from the start of the game.

Turn based combat is not a downside to me. In my opinion, it's a huge plus. I've always preferred turned based combat... when It's been done well.

Got it for like 3 euros. Played 70% with fun and vibed the music etc. Then it just started to feel so tedious that i wished it to be over. It definitely had its moments but i hope Dos2 is better.
