My fiance has been seperated from her husband for 15 years. They had 4 daughters together and she raised those girls with no support. HE beat her, one time hitting her with a hammer. and ended up have twin babies with his agultress, though the babies died. The opposition to divorce warn that it will deminish the sanctity and respect for the marrital arrangement. But in fact the opposite has been the case. 2 of my fiancee's daughter currently live with and have children with men outside the marital arrangement because they are affraid to marry. They were eye witnesses of their mothers abuse and were primarily affected by the lack of support often not even having food for the day. Follow the teaching of the Christ and trust the Phillipine people with their tremendouse love of the family to make their own decisions

Instead of legalizing divorce, the Philippines should simply make an annulment easier to obtain in the event a spouse does a bad thing like abuse, adultery, or abandonment. You could consider those bad deeds to be a violation of a marriage contract, so the court will end the marriage. However, if two people simply want to get divorced because of "irreconcilable differences" or "growing apart", then it shouldn't be allowed, as family integrity is important, and divorce should not be an option unless one of the spouses is genuinely bad.
