Annulment means the wedding did not really happen therefore null, divorce on the other hand means that the man and woman are formerly married but no longer after divorce, the annulment means no marriage has pushed through in the first place therefore when a marriage between a man and a woman was annuled that means they were never married in the first place.

@@jnleyson It hasn’t been ruled by the SC yet, so I don’t think it’s proper to already declare it as unconstitutional. Let’s keep in mind that only the Court can interpret the law. In this context, it is still a forum discussion wherein different honorable persons are sharing their respective stances on the Divorce Bill. Let’s refrain from preempting the Supreme Court’s decision and avoid stating that Divorce is unconstitutional, doing so only confuses people and propagates the spread of misinformation.

However, it could also be interpreted differently by considering the INTENT OF THE FRAMERS of the Constitution. AGAIN, we are not part of the Supreme Court, so we cannot rule on the constitutionality of Divorce. Furthermore, discussions such as this would not occur if the constitutionality of the Divorce Bill were not open to debate.

This is what I hate the most when I hear that our universal rights are being argued based on religion!! Because this is a Divisions. All Religions can and May argue that they have different traditions and customs that may be in favor or anti to a certain topic. If a kiosk happens because we couldn't find common grounds. Who would judge the issue? Is it the judge that is anti or pro Divorce?? Or maybe we bring the issue to the international criminal court of justice since we cant seems to have a fair trial in The Philippines because if the double standards?? What if I don't believe in religion but I believe in God. Can I choose a natural judge to hear my case??

Practicing Catholic? Have you read the Bible? This just proves that marriage is not just a mere union but it's a sacred union created by God, an essential foundation of the society that's why the state should protect it. And as a Catholic you should understand that, do more research sir. And it doesn't mean na if you're a Catholic and you go against one of its beliefs means that the Catholic Church should change. Our beliefs should change. There's more depth in the Church, try to explore it sir.

Dapat ipagbawal na rin annulment ganun din naman un e. Divorce at annulment pareho lang na paghihiwalayin ang mag asawa under the law. Ang kaibahan lang ay pangmayaman ung annulment samantalang ung divorce ay para sa lahat. Dapat tingnan nu naman kung fair kau, mga ipokrito.

Look, people, it's not that hard to understand. This is NOT about God or Religion, this is about BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS!! There are some marriages that just don't work, some of them are abusive. Denying Filipinos the right to get out of such abusive relations and effectively imprisoning them to that kind of life is MORALLY wrong! Pilipinas nalang po ang wala pang Divorce, tayo at yung Holy See(Vatican)!! The Philippines is a secular country, it is imbedded in our constitution itself!
