I married an American man who had nothing when we got married in Nairobi Kenya. We have been living in US for almost 9 years financially stable. Currently he is making 6 figures. He started being so abusive and disrespectful. We have a joint account and assets we have bought together in the course of our marriage. He filled for divorce in Kenya now pending for hearing in 2 days. He took everything from me including our vehicles and left me and my children homeless. He filled divorce in Kenya becouse he knows if the divorce is finalized in Kenya I will loose everything Ave worked for. I was told I can't file for divorce here since it's already been filled in Kenya and my lawyer told me to tell the judge that we have never lived in Kenya and if he or she can allow the marriage to be dissolved in America. I hope the Kenya judge can understand and ask him to file for divorce here since this is where we have been living and he is filling in Kenya so that he can leave me and my children in the cold.😢

our men are so backward and have been taught to demean and devalue a woman except their mother. i came from uk and the month i had gt married to turned hostile one we stepped in kenyan soil. he had said he will beat me once we come to kenya. he beat me to death even when i begged him. i went to police and i was covered with blood on my face and eyes but it was all in vain as police just let him loose. i was an enterprenuer and had fully given myself to my husband whom i thought would never lay his hands on me. He called his mother and brothers whom we had helped so much but they now wanted everything we earned and forgetting i was pregnant with my 5th baby.i did know any other man as i was a very dedicated wife and was brought in salvation where by u should respect your husband and all you have one bank account. God showed me there was another woman though he said he will silence me i left him for fear of death. Now we are seperated and has gone on to sire 3 kids with another woman who joined with her son of our first borns age. He claims that our hard earned wealth is divided into 2 so that he can look after these other children. today he is so broke and looks very old because God's glory left him and also God observes justice. this man wished bad things on me even death but he is now going thro hell as they constantly argue with this woman. im still raising our 5 children on my own and God is helping me to pick myself from what this man did to me. very traumatising but im recovering

Mental health, domestic violence, substance abuse, societal pressures, decline in moral fabric of society, same issues in diaspora and in Kenya.

Diaspora tribe should consider investing in passive income streams instead of killing themselves working double-double shifts. Guys should talk to companies like cytton which has products that pay interests of 19% or more

The background music is overpowering and the interviewed is completely biased a 20rh century mindset which is the main problem. What a misleading assumption about why marriages are in trouble in the West. The lady and gentleman gave very clear reason why divorce is an issue in the US but the interviewer reverts back to non issues that come from an African patriarchal mindset

I don’t think working destroys marriage, in Kenya people work for long hours too but marriage is intact, all i can say is that family pressure from home destroys marriage, no single family member will care if your marriage is on the rocks if break up means you will support him or her financially
