My husband worked as a classical music broadcaster for almost 40 years and this group was by far his favorite to announce. And means, literally, The Large Stable and the King's Bedroom. We have several of their recordings some on LP and cassette. We really love Dances of the Court and Villages From the Sixteenth Century which a friend of ours transferred to CD from cassette (it never made it to CD a far as we know) and is played almost daily for the benefit of our very musical parakeet.

I really like this piece. As a whole piece i Think its better as the rv 594. Espacially the Donec ponam and the judicabit part are really good. Donec ponam reminds me somehow on the incarnatus est part of Bachs große H-Moll Messe but faster. And the judicabit part is so cool! I really love the half alt solo. It really gives me inspiration for my compositions. The only part I think that is better in 594 is the sicut erat in principio part (i love the harmony so much there). I wish that one Day I can also compose something like that.

Performer(s) : Guido Reni is a painter (the pictures of the recording video). The conductor of "La grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy" was Jean-Claude Malgloire... ;-)
