Very cool built, thanks for sharing. But the coolest moments are really in the end, where the canoe is used in it's right element. The price of the young rower (your kid?) is really priceless

Many thanks for the kind praise - yes, the paddler is my son and the moment was overwhelming. We had a paddling course and he learned the technique quickly and implemented it perfectly, especially when seen in slow motion. By the way, here is the movie of the first use of the azzurro: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYmYlGunjrudm9ksi=UtydOUBzY6XR9qBd best regards

Beautiful. Definitely a better way of building this canoe. This ensure both sides and ends are the exact copy of each. Nicely done. 🎉 that is a beautiful canoe

nice boat. Where did you get the adjustable seat mounts? I Want to build a ceder strip canoe but would like tilting seats like my Ally folding canoe. Your system may suit this.

Was meinst du?

is there a specific reason you used carbon fiber instead of fiberglass? and why cut out the center when applying the sheet to the exterior? thanks
@WolfVideos
@WolfVideos 10 ай бұрын
Carbon fiber is much more stable than glass fiber, especially if you ride in rocky rivers at low water, carbon is recommended. I have carbon fabric with a width of 125 cm, but the boat is 135 cm at its widest point, so I cut the carbon mat in the middle to get the carbon all the way to the coaming.

Very interesting! Looks like you turned the scarf joined, two sections hull into a four sections, fiberglass butt joined one? I am building a gorewood 12 right now, I am nearly able to close both ends of the hull.
@ebutle1243
@ebutle1243 2 ай бұрын
Also curious about the butt joint, it seemed a lot easier than the scarf joint given the very thin material. Did you try and replicate this joint in your build?
@clee5653
@clee5653 2 ай бұрын
@@ebutle1243 No, I followed the original recipe but I have to leave my project for a while because it's too bloody hot in my workshop. I have problem with the shape of only one end of my build, my guess is I've forgot to fill the gap between the plywoods with thickened resin there, which is ok if it weren't for the bow or stern, too much tension for the wood there. For other parts, it gave me a nice semi-round/slightly V shape hull, should improve tracking.
@clee5653
@clee5653 2 ай бұрын
Also I found the recurve bowline in Gorewood 12 is unnecessary, extra work and made attaching ash gunwales a lot harder than I expected. At this point I figure maybe starting a new one would be quicker. I use cheap single panel okoume ply so it is not a big deal for me.
@ebutle1243

I’m planning to build the Flo-mo 14’ solo from 2 sheets of the same cheaper material. When you say the “recurve bowline” I’m not sure what you mean

@@ebutle1243 It's not in Flo-mo's 14' canoe, check the 12' one, you will see there are 4 additional small pieces. Actually I started with 14', cracked the hull when moving it. The 12' is just much lighter and easier to work with, especially considering I don't have any power tools.

@WolfVideos
@WolfVideos Жыл бұрын
@Falk1982
@Falk1982 Жыл бұрын
@WolfVideos
@WolfVideos Жыл бұрын
