It’s a laminate. Really rigid. From Wilsonart I believe.

The sound on both the GSG and the Sealed boxes are great. If you need the extra DBs of output the GSG ported boxes are the way to go. Personally, I want to build some of the new sealed GSG boxes. I'd love to get a 24" sealed sub in the back of the room. Or 2 even. I think that would simply be kick ass! My room is small, so I gravitate to the smaller foot print of the sealed enclosures. @@jasonsullivan8001

Very nice job @jiles. Where is the flat pack from? I’m having a big dilemma over going ported or sealed. So I’m looking forward to your thoughts on this sub.

If you ask me go as big as possible and sealed. When power is no limitation, then you get more performance per volume. You can easily add, mix and match several sealed subs if you want to go the multi-subwoofer route and ultimately can achieve extension as deep as you like. Ported subs are much bigger, harder to build and more difficult to integrate with other subs. The only pro is that you get more output and efficiency per money spent going ported. But if that's no concern, go sealed.

@@PentenfiThank you. I don't have unlimited power, but I can get 4 x 21" sealed subs for a few $100 more than 2 x 18" ported, which is very appealing. The limiting factor is the power to drive them. I can only push about 600 W to each of the sealed sub, or 1200 W to each of the ported. So...
