I swear I heard ..... "And as I had the dremmel set up I decided to wire brush my ugly wife. My wife is still ugly but at least now she is shiny." Nice build. I met Hugh many many years ago, a pioneer in home made wind machines. Made me realize there is a lot more to building one than getting a scrap alternator from the wreckers and bolting a fan blade to it. In the end I ordered a manufactured turbine from Rutland. I think it was called a Furlmatic and had the off center mount and folding tail fin so when the wind howled it would cant sideways and 'furl' out of the wind to control the blade speed. As you are doing here. worked a treat for years charging the 12v system for the caravan lights and car tape machine/radio.

Your work is very good. You have given me many ideas and answered several key questions already. Obviously your resources and tooling are limited, but that just shows that a true craftsman can make anything. Please finish...lets make some power.

Hi mate have you abandoned the wind turbine generator project? I was eagerly looking forward to seeing the final outcome and test results

I remember watching the first 3 and thinking it was a shame you didn't finish because your videos are well presented and interesting. Glad to see you return to this series/project. I think other videos would be great as well.

please, If you want to calculate the generator required to produce a specific watt, how is that possible?
@Pavla19934 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all the tutorials, you explain really well, can't wait for the final video and test of the wind turbine :) I would propose using the PVC pipe for the blades, since it is cheap and it should last a long time.

CMS blades and hand-carved wood blades work very well, too.

Hello, how do you size the tail? if I have blades with a diameter of 2.8, how long should my tail be? the length only at the blade is 1.34m

I know I'm super late to the party here, but after you cleaned up the internal pipe seam with the dremel, you could easily get that internal surface nearly perfect with a cylinder honing device used for honing/polishing cylinders in piston engines 😎

Can work with no lenz law flux?
@RandomHacks5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm not sure I totally understand your question but in the video I only have one magnet rotor installed, it will have two, one on each side of the stator, attracted to each other so the magnetic flux can travel through the stator. It is called an axial flux generator.

What is your average monthly Wind Speed ? You need a 10 Foot Diameter Wind, on 30' tower in 13 MPH Winds to generate 1,000 Watts. How often do you you have STEADY ( not just gusts ) 13 MPH Winds, for several hours per day?

I have a problem with the generator coils, I have a 1.6 mm cable, a 18-19 mm thick coil, the coil gives 8.5 volts at 300 rpm. Two discs with 50x20x10 magnets with 56 magnets together. Turnover 300 rpm. I need a minimum for a 10-13v coil. Coil width 2.5 cm. I have a wire wound 151 times. But it generates very little electricity.
