IMPORTANT NOTE:
I am not a professional mechanic. I go out there in the web and try to find how to do this kind of stuff.
The DIY videos I produce are here to give you an idea how to get something done.

So I got an '05 Audi A4 convertible 3.0 w 83k on her as a florida vehicle. Thinking its worth investing into. I have coolant being smelt in the exhaust. Thinking its time for the headgaskets to be done and this video is 10000% helpful. Thanks man!

Hi @Alex, great video! I have a 2005, 2.0 TFSI version A4 with the same problem. Do you think it is possible to remove the cylinder head, without removing the full turbo?

Interesting how the two cams are belted and not chained internally like most other Audi V engines

Cool video Alex,I’ve got some rubber seal to replace on the crossover pipe between cylinder heads and this video will help a lot, would you say it would be easier to do this removing the silver part between the heads( can’t recall it’s name at moment of typing this I have a brain injury and have forgot) looks like there is plenty of space when removed,as for the injectors removing is there any problems arise with this when putting it all back, engine looks similar as mine which is a a6 c5 avant 3.0l v6 30v Quattro, will be watching this video a good few times before I start doing this, thanks very informative

Thanks for the video. Really really helpful. I have the 3.0 Supercharged CGW engine with blown gaskets (I suspect). The previous owner damaged the radiator and kept driving and so the engine overheated. Can't find any tutorials on how to do it on mine as it runs on a timing chain. My main concern is the timing chain being out when I re-assemble the engine. Have you got any advice for me? There are 2 V belts on the outside of my engine and I believe they don't need to be marked since the timing chain is inside the engine - and if I'm not wrong the V belts run things like the alternator and A/C compressor etc. Can you confirm by any chance?

Unfortunately, I don't know. If you are running a timing chain and not a belt, the other belts your mentioned shouldn't need to be marked as one should be the serpentine belt and the other the supercharger belt.

Hey Alex, Thanks for the video. I'm just about to perform the same job to my Audi A4. It's a 3.0 BGN V6, looks almost the same. Was the engine overheating? Did you check the heads for cracks/warp with a straight edge? Did you ever find out if the gasket failed or there was another underlying condition? Thanks in advance, Charles

I don't know what caused it. I bought the car with the head gasket already blown. It's rare for the block to be warped but several overheats or a really good one can cause it. When I inspected the block I couldn't find any abnormalities, I also went over it with a block sander checking for low spots (basically add lines with a marker, go over it a few times and see if any marks remain).

I have the same engine in my 03 convertible and will be doing the timing belt and tensioner this spring. I was wondering if this engine can be successfully fitted with dual turbo's.

You could if, but it's an aluminum block so it might wear your engine out quick. If twin turbo v6 is what you're after, the 2.7 twin turbo from the a6, s4, and allroad is a common swap for your car. It's an iron block that comes with two turbos.
