I've never done this but you made it look easy. Maybe I can save several hundred doing it myself. Also, you looking at the tire, you may have needed an alignment even before this job
@MobileCarMechanic Жыл бұрын
Awesome. If we can do it so can you. Just watch as many times to familiarize yourself with the job. Definitely needed an alignment before but told the customer to have everything done before and then get new tires and an alignment.

You need to tighten the top bolts with the wheel on. And you need a torque wrench to tighten bolts to the right torque. Overall very good video.

Go for solid steel when you jack a car up always more solid it's to risky jacking subframe if your doing suspension work.

just the video i need to watch, as my camry 2013 F/Passenger needs to be replaced, great work, i did notice the audio went out after loud noises, common for mics to do that on certain phones. other than that, great! i wonder if u did the rear struts replacements?
@MobileCarMechanic Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately sometimes the mic gets weird or covered. But hopefully the video still helps. I haven’t done the rear struts as the owner hasn’t wanted to do them yet. Good luck and Cheers!
@DizTraveler Жыл бұрын
@@MobileCarMechanic well being an audio/visual tech, if you plan to do more videos, invest in a wireless lavileir mic that clips onto your shirt, well if the owner does need them replaced, even if they don't, i am sure people will want to see it done. Thanks for the prompt reply! However based on my research, my Camry 2013 SE i have found my vehicle won't be able to use the products you used. I guess Toyota altered the specs for the SE version. But based on what i saw at the wheel its basically the same. I did order me 2 new sway bars, as the rubber grommets on the driver side looked crackled...

You don't need an alignment after replacing those struts. And use a jackstand
@MobileCarMechanic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Definitely recommend using a jack stand. This car needed an alignment as the tire was worn unevenly on the driver side.

Have you forgotten to tie the ABS line to the wheel because a new one doesn't have clip- lock?
@MobileCarMechanic Жыл бұрын
I took care of it off camera as the strut didn’t have a bracket to allow the sensor to clip on to. A zip tie will work just fine. Cheers!
What’s your opinion on the ride Quality of those quick pre loaded struts...??
@MobileCarMechanic Жыл бұрын
So far so good. Not sure how many miles on it now. But the owner is a ride share driver and he’s had no complaints so far. When I took it for a test drive it seemed like OEM quality.

Are those harbor freight wheel chocks? And if so are they good?

They work well. I’ve had them for a couple of years now. They are from harbor freight. I think they were like 7 bucks. Cheap and solid. I’d recommend it

@michaelcuthbertson19312 жыл бұрын
Nice video only you didn’t re-anchor the ABS sensor. Had you’d tried you would have found that the hole could not be used as it is too far out toward the lower strut bolts and the steering knuckle interferes
@MobileCarMechanic2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the info. I didn’t realize the clip was attached to strut till now. Good to know that it would have caused issues had it been routed via the clip. Thanks and Cheers!
@michaelcuthbertson19312 жыл бұрын
@@MobileCarMechanic That's where the problem comes in. Unless you know of a universal clip or devise a tyrap solution the hole needs to be relocated the diameter for the original strut hole and redrilled. You'll need a drill press for that and also make sure you don't drill into the strut tube. I've submitted this info to Monroe on 10/12/22 but have not heard back yet. The easiest solution for them would be to include a new clip that fits the new hole but does not go too deep as to hit the steering knuckle.
