How did u test out the bulb

The bulb was black and I looked at the filament in the bulb and it was broken which is a clear giveaway the bulb is bad.

I broke the thing that holds it all together didn't know the top holder gets caught

Might need to wear some rubber gloves to get a better grip on the bulb.

Hi sir mine's a gen 9.5 but its so hard I cant push it to unlock it out. Any suggestion?

I would get some WD-40 and spray around the rubber seal to help loosen up the bond. That’s usually what makes these get stuck.

Could be an electrical issue with a switch in the latch that detects when the trunk is open, try cleaning the latch. Could be a wiring issue or an issue with the instrument cluster.

The trunk light will come on when the switch is detecting the trunk is open. We may need to look into the switch or the wiring. Also check the bulb to see if it’s out. May help to have a multimeter to check for voltage at the bulb to see if the switch is activating the bulb.

It appears there is more likely an electrical issue with the latch. I would try going to a junkyard and getting one cheap or try online. Sounds like an issue with the switch in the latch. If you can locate the wiring harness I would also try to wiggle it to see if anything changes to rule out any broken wires

This DOES NOT WORK for my 2015 Accord Coupe EX-L, as my license plate is on the bumper, not the trunk door, and the enclosures are held in with plastic brackets.

I feel stupid n probably am stupid. I can’t figure out how to get to my civic license plate light. I upgraded all my lights to led but dam I can’t figure out how to get it off. Took the trunk lining off and everything I got the rest switch. People are laughing at me now it’s embarrassing having one distracting n unsightly nasty yellow bulb in there still

I had to break bulbs and pull out by the filament with vise grips. Not ideal but worked for me.
