I have the owners manual, but it does not say the torque specs for that trans drain plug. Where can I find it?

@@mr.boniato6402 we just went with the “tight is enough” method and no issues so far

I used a T55 torx bit to get off the level plug. Those plugs get stuck

@@3guysgaragethe video helped me check the levels. I had a tranny flush done 3 years ago at the dealership when I had to take it in for a recall. I tried to use a 10mm Allen socket it wouldn’t fit right. I tried the t55 which fits nicely and able to get a bite. I tapped the plug lightly to shock it loose. When I drained the fluid initially, I measured 6 quarts. It was practically overfilled. I refilled with 5 quarts and drove around and checked the level, less than a quart came out through the level plug. It shifts smoothly.

Yes it did. Roughly 50% improved. Gonna do it again soon see how it is after that I’ll do a follow up video

Does the wrench light come up if the transmission fluid needs to be changed?

No it’s supposed to be lifetime fluid which is over 100,000 i wouldn’t recommend letting it go half of that

At the time of filming I bought it off Amazon it was the cheapest I could find it . As long as it’s Mercon lv it’s ok . Second time I used valvoline max life

Mine also still has occasional hard shifts . I think it’s just how they are . I don’t know if ford came out with software for them but I’ll change it one more time and then every 30k . It can shift hard til the end of time as long as it holds together

I cannot get the sight plug loose to save my life. Any suggestions?

You can always try some penetrating oil of some kind and tap the socket while inside of the plug it’s probably just a little corrosion around the aluminum

Is this the 2.5 se? How many quarts of fluid is needed?

Yes it’s the 2.5se , it takes 4.5 qts to test drive to get the fluid hot. It should take almost 5 total depending on how much drained out

@@matt10342 that’s the whole capacity of the transmission, but every flush will drain between 3.5-5 quarts, rest remains inside.
