I probably would have separated the upper ball joint instead of loosening the lower control arm bolts as this is where camber/caster adjustments are made. Also you should never tighten control arm bushing bolts or the bottom shock bolt without the weight of the vehicle on them.

Westcott Designs has manufactured a 3” spacer out for all models of the Tundra! I’ll be installing mine pretty soon on my 2022 platinum with the AVS in the rear.

Westcott Designs kit is available now, there done several Tundras. It's not strict spacers so doesn't give the terrible ride. You definitely should check it out.

Can you get an inch and a half inch spacer so you don't half to raise the back any to keep the front down a half inch. Or is it better to do two in the front and one inch in the back to have it a little lower in the front, if I am keeping the tires that came with it.
@CliffordKITT2 жыл бұрын
when you turn off the truck you have 45 seconds to push up the "mist" lever on the right side of the treeing wheel, this will deploy the air dam for better access to those skid plate bolts.

So I take it no one has had an issue with any of the electronics getting out of whack after leveling? (for I assume if anyone did we would be hearing about it?) I called a reputable installer and they told me that a leveling kit on the 2022's will cause sensor misreadings and other issues once it is no longer raked? Doesn't sound right to me but want to throw it out there as I received my 2" level kit today and want to install it to accomodate my Nitto Terra 295/70r18 AT AND get a little more clearance for offroad. Comments would be welcomed!

Good instructional video. Has Toyota done a better job rustproofing this new Tundra than they do for the Tacoma and 4 Runner ?? I just traded my 2019 Tacoma for a 2022 4Runner. I’m hoping that I can stay ahead of the corrosion as I want to keep it long term as it is the last year of the current generation.
@alphamale60972 жыл бұрын
If you are in the rust belt it doesn’t matter what you drive. Go through the car washes with under carriage spray clean, dry and then add corrosion protection. It is also an issue near the coast.

I don't understand why so many people use a spacer lift when you have the Westcott collar lift. It doesn't change the geometry of the axles so no need for a diff drop kit. The price is a little more but not much and the shock can still function the way it's supposed to. After 10,000 miles on the collar lift, I've been really impressed with it. I have no affiliation with Westcott, just really impressed with the collar style lift.

I'm planning to upgrade suspension when better options are available so I figured I'd save a little money in the meantime to use toward that.

Why not unbolt the UCA to make it easier to get the coilover out? I know on the drivers side you need to remove the airbox and ECU to do it, but we're talking about a clamp a few clips, and some plugs.

Looking great! I'll probably follow in your footsteps on this one. I know it's way too early, but have you given any thoughts on Speedometer recalibration and any impact bigger tires might have on the TSS radar system and/or transmission shift points? My only hold up on installing bigger tires right now is the unknown impact to these systems. Things have become a lot more complicated when lifting vehicles compared to my 2012 4Runner (my last vehicle).

Also, I would like to know if you will calculate the difference in distance traveled per tire revolution into your fuel economy numbers. I am really enjoying all your videos. I have an FJ, so those older videos are fun too.

I know I am late to the party but I just have to say I am not a fan of spacer lifts. I’ve done a lot of off roaring with off roading clubs and I’ve seen tons of vehicles break down in the middle of nowhere because it had a spacer lift. Here is four reasons why I think they’re a terrible idea. 1.) Your ball joints are your limiting devise on down travel and will wear them out or break them. 2.) your bump stop is no longer is the up travel limiting factor, your shock is and will cause your shock to fail on a large hit. 3.) the upper control arm can make contact with your strut or springs causing wear on the shock and control arms. 4.) the over extended down travel can cause your CV axles to over extend and wear faster than expected or break while flexed off road. If you were going to do it do it right. You’ll thank yourself later.
