I wouldn't put the knife on the outside of the bag as someone could get if off and use it against you the best bet woudl be to put it in one of the inside pockets, I also suggest for those bulky boxes to use Dyneema stuff sacks instead as they are lighter in weight and can save space there by giving you more room to add more gear because most major disasters do not last 72 hours but rather longer.

Hello Reagan. I remember one of your preparedness bag videos about a year ago (home one i think). Useful items and gear to help you out. cool swiss army knife, I have one of the medium size ones in that color. There maybe a few to consider. Maybe a spare charging cable for your phone.(s) A mirror to see the face( hard to see spots) and aid in signaling. If you can get a nesting metal cup in with your water bottle or soon to have life straw, that would give another back up option without adding to much weight or bulk. I do like seeing the whistle in an easy to get to spot. Now it's possible to braid a quick deploy(daisy chain) for the lanyard so it takes up less room and less likely to snag on anything for example . I do believe you would be able to use it while it's on the bag still too. This is something i do on my emergency preparedness bag. Take CaRe and all the best to you and the family from CR.

a great video indeed as well as a great choice for your pocket knife, Spyderco. Also, great job on having a well supplied first aid kit. would appreciated if you could include a link to those tourniquets. I was going to suggest including a fixed blade knife as well as a power bank, secondary flashlight, whistle, and maybe a more heavy duty multitool. apologies if I missed any of this through the review or if they've been mentioned in your other videos :) of course as you mentioned, kits are always evolving.

Awesome video! I’m a nurse too and I’m working on my kit. Instead of the laundry detergent soap you can shred Zote laundry detergent into a ziplock. You’ll have more and it takes up less room. Also instead of a regular water bottle look into the greyl geopress it’s an awesome water purifier. I’ll look out for gluten free options. Also I see you have a dog. Will you be putting some food for it in a bag?

Good gluten free foods. Canned butter or canned processed cheese. Gluten free instant oatmeal. Small packets or jars of jams or jellies. They make peanut butter and jelly combo packets for snacking. Also some good dried fruit and jerky like epic bars. The one thing a lot of people forget in bug out bags is physical pictures of anyone they may need help finding. No guarantee that phones will work and be able to pull them up and a picture is much better than a description. You can if you really want to get crazy with it find specific ingredients that are freeze dried and make your own freeze dried meals and vacuum pack them yourself. Might also consider legal copies of important documents.

Good little kit! One negative is that those tourniquets will not stop arterial blood flow in anything but young children. One of the TCCC approved ones will give you the best effect. Various Esmarch type tourniquets also have their place, but require more strength/dexterity and are difficult to impossible to self apply.
@reaganpruitt15784 жыл бұрын
They are more heavy duty then they seem and honestly when it comes to tourniquets, anything is better than nothing 🤷🏼♀️ that’s also why I included a second one. I was able to apply it to myself with one hand so you get get it even tighter with two.

Multivitamins! No one ever suggests vitamins. A mylar poncho. Rain and wind proof. Small. Or some kind of waterproof poncho. It could be used as a shelter tent, water collection, ground cover, you could rig it to boil water with rocks, 'n'stuff. Did you have a pot to boil water or cook in? Or water purification tablets? I put all the meds/pills in my med kit small zipper bags. Thay fit way smaller than bottles and are lighter.
@MrTearyZeus913 жыл бұрын
I think that you should definitely switch out your tourniquets for CAT tourniquets instead, because the ones you have will definitely not be very effective as they are not sturdy enough and won't be able to get tight enough even with both of them on at once. Also, possibly more trauma supplies, like an Israeli bandage and quik clot. Finally I think you should swap out the detergent pod for a small bottle of castile soap, as it can be used to wash clothes as well as yourself, dishes, or whatever else you might want to wash. I think a great rule of thumb to use when creating emergency kits is to try to make as many of the items in your bag have as many functions and uses as possible.

Hey! I have a dairy allergy (all dairy proteins), fish allergy that could send me to hospital, and gluten intolerance (and several other intolerances). You may be able to find some Jerky that is gluten free and I am trying out the Rx bars soon to see if I tolerate those. I’ve tried the chicken version of those pouches and they don’t agree with me either, but could do in an emergency. Nothing I’m straight up allergic to listed, but I still react in strange ways. Dairy protein and gluten protein are very similar in structure which is why I have issues with both.

Hi, I am new to your channel, and looks like you have a well thought out bag! You are like me I have a winter car emergency kit/ everyday car kit, a To Go bag, I also have power outage at home bag, because when the power goes out it can be crazy, stumbling through the house finding flashlights, batteries, candles etc.. I have all in 1 bag in the emergency pantry. Loved your video, I’m going to subscribe cause I like the way you approach this!! Just wanted to suggest a possible disposable CPR mask you can find on line cheaply! Especially with COVID, also on Amazon there are portable soap sheets, comes in plastic containers just pull out a sheet and some water you can clean up pretty good, cheaply, and lastly Amazon has a product called Wysi wipes they are a compressed 9x9 biodegradable toilet paper sheet with ridges that is the size of a nickel only needs a few drops of water or saliva to open them up and they are way stronger than regular toilet paper. You can get like 100 tablets for about 8.00 $ . Can’t wait to see your other videos!,

As a female prepper with daughters, my advice is to look into a mensural cup vs pads/tampons. They are very small and unlimited use for a couple years.

So what would you suggest for times when you don’t have running water to dispose of the contents, to wash the cup, or wash your hands? So... other than a medical emergency, the two main things you should focus on are a simple shelter kit and a way to carry more water. You mentioned a life straw, but keep in mind that you shouldnt ALWAYS rely on them. If they freeze, they can rupture, and then you can get sick. Id recommend a small can or pot with a small camping stove that you can use to boil water in an emergency situation. That can also help with some of your food requirements. Some things where you just need to add hot water like oatmeal (most gluten allergies dont include oats, but some do) or rice meals could help you. I wouldnt rely on those, definitely keep your on the move snacks as well, but they might help you diversify your food. Plus, as mentioned with the pot/can and small camping stove from before, they can help if you are in desperate need of clean water and your lifestraw isnt working. (Also, id recommend keeping some fire tinder like fatwood, fire plugs, or tinder quik tabs to help make fires in an emergency.)
