I seen many DIY videos how to make this and looks so easy yet it's when I try it my self I discover some things that are tough and try things to make it work. I use a speed controller so the magnets can follow each other as the speed increases so won't unhook but I still have this problem I can't fix that the magnets in the water unhooks from the 1 on the motor. I turn it up a little and won't move cause the magnets are stopping them, but I turn up a little more then the magnets on the motor immediately takes off without the magnets in the water. They won't turn and contact properly. Do you know what the issue could be? because I have no clue, I just watch videos and follow.

Same thing happened to me until I realized I was using the wrong type of magnets (I was using the normal kind) In order for it to work you need to get Rare Earth Magnets, they are incredibly strong.
