DIY Ammo Can Powerpack

This is my DIY of an ammo can power pack, this thing will come in handy when fishing , and camping. hope you enjoy this video.

You can get male fittings so you don't have bare wires that plug into the top of yr pos and neg or you unscrew and insert in the hole on side where u put yr Garmin wires and tight in it down. Love the video thanks.

I just watched another video on the same subject . Your batteries were 19.99 each . They are 5ah . For less than 40 you can get a 15ah battery . For less than 70 you can get 2 . For 99 you get 3 . 15ah each . The insulation is a good idea . For cold weather you might add a small led inside to keep things warm and dry. Or wrap your box with space blanket . Or with the same insulation you used in the bottom of your can .

I gotta say, I have the same Garmin device. It's going on 5 years old. I've only used it in salt water. It's still working like the day I first activated it regardless of the countless times it's been splashed, sprayed, and salt encrusted. I am going to build a similar box, but will be including a small 5 amp charge controller for a 25w solar panel, to eliminate the need to charge the battery from mains and to prolong battery life when in use.

I carry a HALO Bolt Portable Car Jump Starter in all my cars and they hold a charge very well. Charge them once a year in variable climate conditions. I noticed that the cost of your DYI was comparable and I very much like the design but would love to see a comparison:-)

Thanks and I'm not sure if its absolutely necessary but the research I did said it was a good idea will help save your phone or camera if there is a surge also I used a 5 amp fuse

Haha sorry I think I used a 3/16 you could use a 7/32 to give a little play for the banana plugs
