Just a helpful suggestion to improve on your feeder is make a cone or a slope and place it inside. So the feed doesn’t just sit on the back half of the bucket. Great idea 👍👍. I’m enjoying your creative ideas, keep them coming…

How many inches round is that pvc part and the piece that holds it in?

That's a cool idea. Have you tried placing the food and water on a flat, hard surface and not putting any bedding material in that area? Then, when they naturally spread the feed everywhere, they can go back later and simply pick up the scattered food. Chickens like to forage and eat off of the ground. They don't need any sawdust, shavings, straws, etc. in the food and water area.

If you know anything about chickens you should know they like to scratch for food. I tell you something Put a fake floor made of 1/4 inch square mesh in the bottom. Having it over a catch basin that you can slide out like a drawer and dump back into the feeder. You have wood chips in the floor already and that’s good because it will catch the poop they create and when they scratch the chips for feed the feed what they don’t eat will fall through the mesh down into the basin and the poop will stay with the chips. But the way you have them eating from that bucket you will see the chickens go from 5 pounds to 3.5 pounds in about two weeks
