Nice job! I picked up some nice sheds this year and left some nice ones that were pretty chalky. After watching your video I wish I would have saved a couple to try this on. We hunted the same unit as your buddy this year and actually packed out our antelope together, thats what got me following your channel. You guys do a great job

Hey thanks! I remember talking briefly to you guys at the trucks one morning. Definitely not a shortage of chalky sheds out there lol. Thanks for following the channel!

I wish I could see what they looked after the first coat dried. Looked perfected after first coat was on wet

Yeah I’m gonna try some antlers in a little better condition to start with and mess around and tweak some things. I agree first coat looked pretty dang good.

You pretty much do everything that white bone creations does. If you mix your stain early American with a little bit of neutral, it will be a little bit lighter. Then take double lot steel wool and lightly drag it over the horns do not put any pressure on it any pressure at all. And when you do the tips a little more pressure. The little nubs are on the pedicles a little more pressure. Then after that a mat acrylic to hold it all on. Those are some pretty cool sheds you have!

Thanks for the advice! I have a few more sheds I’m gonna try and do and fine tune/adjust the process.

Can use dry wall mud and wet sponge excess mud off then paint.

Nice job! How did you get those metal dowels in there?

Thanks! I drilled holes in the antler and glued them in with gorilla glue.

Nice work restoring the antlers. I’m not a huge fan of the finished colour or gloss that it gives the antlers. It doesn’t look very natural but like you said they look much better than they did.

@@BoworBustOutdoors thanks, I agree completely. Not completely happy with the end result but a decent try.
