Thanks, great video. I went to a Project Mapleseed event last November and borrowed one of their slings. Now I have my own and will go back this year to take the course again as I missed getting my rifleman patch by four points. Thanks again, like your videos.

Great vid man. But at 1:28 you mention orienting the qd to one side to keep it from popping off, which made me curious.. Then at 4:46 you demonstrate mounting the qd to the stock by pressing the spring plunger and rotating the tab closed. This is only the 1st of 2 steps. The 2nd step is to twist the pushbutton clockwise so that the plunger cannot back out on its own. Cheers brother.

It is an odd mechanism, but you'll see what I mean if you try it.

Will this work for any other kind of seed?

I tried making a few, I found the strapping I chose was too thick for the cam buckle to hold properly. If I make another I am considering using a flip top belt. They are cotton, come 52” long and have a good buckle. Just need 1.25” tri-glide and sling swivel.

Cotton is better for hanging on to your arm anyways.

Remove the j-hook and replace with a quick disconnect also nylon slips off your shoulders. You should be using cotton.

These are cheap & quick. A better sling would be 1 1/4" cotton.

Where did you source the cam from? Ebay has been confusing thus far.

any suggestions on a location in Canada to obtain/purchase single CAM Buckles and Tri-slides? Amazon has batches of 10, but I am not starting a mini-militia :)

Just buy a USGI cotton sling off Amazon amzn.to/3HrqLbO

@@Huntinggearguy at 3:40 you show that the USGI sling comes with a J-Hook. at 4:30 you show the quick-connect style swing swivel that is found on my Savage MarkII. Are you recommending the USGI cotton sling, and then removing the J-Hook?
@Huntinggearguy11 ай бұрын
@@ecpoirieryep, remove the j-hook and find some quick connect sling mounts that work with 1 1/4" sling.

What are you making so many sir. Are you putting together a small elite army of 12 year olds. 😊 I noticed you didn’t mention bungee slings. I’m not a big fan myself because of an incident with a super shortie AR-15 in 7.62x39 I was doing a dry run with on a course event I was shooting the next day, (one of the perks of volunteering to help set up). I dropped my rifle as I came over a barrier and landed on my feet. It dropped well below it’s normal resting place just above my groin and accelerated back up and disabled me the unique way a man can be disabled. I didn’t shoot the event the next day and did my best not to look down for well over a week while I healed. 😊

In a round about way, kinda. I'm making these as loaners slings for Project Mapleseed, which is a Canadian marksmanship program that trains adults and youth.

I was teasing, it’s reasonable to assume that’s what it’s for. Scouts, Boy and Girls Clubs, 4H and of course Cadets would also be a fairly decent guess but you did mention MapleSeed so there’s that. Good on you sir, I actually enjoy getting other people shooting more then shooting my self.

One of the dumbest things I ever did was get rid of my mother's old Singer sewing machine when she passed away. There was just too much stuff to deal with at the time.

I took my sugar baby too the event and she wore her apple bottom jeans, boots with fur, the whole range was looking at her! She hit her target dead center next thing you know Shawty got her rifleman patch.
