You shouldn't connet both BEC together it is saver to cut one positive BEC wire, this way no current can flow between both 5V potential if they dont have the same voltage.

I wonder instead of a fan type build...make it a blower type setup, this way the airflow fills the skirt then escapes out the bottom of the skirt...more efficient use of the blower to lift the hovercraft Very very cool design and build! Keep em coming!!!!

Project looks great, but this tiny power switch made me cringe. It's not going to break lots of current, but if running full-blast for prolonged time it's going to melt itself. Bigger RC models do not have such switches for a reason. I think you could use panel-mounted XT60 connector with a loop as a switch capable of handling bigger current. I wonder what's actual power consumption by the motors, and if run-time can be increased by using 'server type' BLDC fans like Nidec Beta V TA350DC which can lift itself easily using only ~2.5A. I made a proof-of concept using this fan and a small food-tray, and it lifted like a rocket ;)

How quickly the skirt will spoil? You use hovercraft at asphalt, i think plastic bag will have holes after 20-30 minutes. If you use glue - it not possible to change plastic bag easy.
@HowToMechatronics5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the skirt will eventually fail. Well the bottom part already have additional tightener for the skirt so it could be secured in place without a glue, it should work. This can be also implemented from on the top side as well. Just make holes around the skirt holder and use screws or bolts for securing it. I went with glue because it was a simpler way, and I think it would be still easy to replace it, the glue would come out with some scraping.

How much the total cost?
@abhishekprasad29355 жыл бұрын
depends on the fact that do you have access to a 3 d printer and an RC Rx Tx :D , if you have than it must cost you bet Rs 4000 to 5000, which includes motors , esc, arduino , battery , charger and servo.

Can you use any RC Controller? Just have to setup the Arduino code?
@HowToMechatronics5 жыл бұрын
Well yes, you can use any RC controller, in such a case you won't even need an Arduino. Only RC transmitter and it's receiver on the hovercraft. You just need to control 2 ESCs and 1 servo.

@VestedUTuber Жыл бұрын
This really seems like an "Arduino for Blog Cred" project - you're using the Arduino to do something that can already be done with off-the-shelf electronics. I guess it's cheaper than using a premade DSM radio but not by much if you actually look at the price of budget radio equipment vs the price of an Arduino-based control system.

usually it's a bad idea to parallelly connect BEC of differeent ESCs, because they can fry eachother
@SolarWebsite5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, well spotted. Even identical ESCs can have small voltage differences between them, allowing a current to flow between them. It might have been a good idea to use just one BEC.
