Heather, have so many talents, I love this, another binding technique, for the pages I glue a layer of tyvek under the paper, that has worked for me in the past is tyvek, I use it often in boxes and bindings, I hate making a project and open and close it often, the paper will tear over long usage. My diy tip. I love this tutorial, give me a great idea from your online class, Mixed media for beginners, I was waiting for a genius idea what to do with the gorgeous art journal in class. I do believe you have implemented another great creation from my brain. Love the stimulation you give my brain and my chi.

Hi heather , I am so sorry to correct you but the binding technique you use on this journal is Kathy Orta’s hidden hinge binding , Laura Dennison’s is quite different, to this one , just as good but very different, I am a avid paper crafter and been making journals for some years now , love this cover by the way it’s beautiful 😍

Ok Heather...you’re making little tears drip out of my eyes. 😢 First, I don’t have a crocodile or a hole punch. Or even an awl. I do have a tiny littl nail but it’s too small to hold onto it. Next, I don’t have a fancy wigs thing with, um, little ridges on it that you used for evenly scoring your card stock. We’re only three minutes in and I’m already defeated by being tool-less. It like being. Homeless but not, just lacking tools. I’m stumped. Now it’s possible that, in fact, you aren’t responsible for the tears or my feeling utterly fucked. It could be the lack of sleep for the last two nights because a woman moved in that is absolutely batshit crazy, toys in the attic, ready for lockdown. But I’m going to sleep tonight, no matter what because I am short circuiting with no sleep. Either I’m going to ave to move or she is. Doing laundry this morning at 4:30am is not cool. I’m not amused. Ok sorry or ranting, not my intent. I’m just going to watch this video in the morning, assuming I sleep tonight. I’m sure I’ll figure out how to do bookbinding without tools, somehow. My apologies for rambling non-sensibly. *and she curtsies to the Queen of Crafting, AKA the Queen of Everything leaving me the envious position of Princess of Quite a Lot. One of my favorite sayings, from um Mary somebody. Emmerling maybe?? Much love 💗 Sweet dreams.
@Thicketworks6 жыл бұрын
Oh, Annie. How awful. You need sleep desperately, girl. Everything looks like crap when seen through exhausted eyes, darling. 💗 I'm holding a vision of your living situation as a "quiet, peaceful, secure, safe sanctuary" 💗 Look, having fancy tools is great - and NOT having them is painful, once we see what can be done with them. But NEVER let that stop you from exercising your Blessed Creativity! Instead, why not use that discontent to fuel your determination to re-examine your environment, and the things you DO have access to. You will find that there are endless possibilities in a cereal box. A toilet paper tube. An old garment. REAP from what surrounds you! Reimagine the ways that ART can be wrested from humble materials! But most of all: SLEEP. Much love. xox
