Fast forward to April 2020 and if you are lucky enough to find a cheap weight set on Craigslist, it will cost you $600+.

You can also get a 7’ piece of schedule 80 pipe 1.5” inside diameter. It has an OD of 1.9”. That is the same material Rouge uses for there axel bars. Wrap athletic tape and use regular collars. If you can weld tack a couple 3/4” pieces of 2”ID pipe where the collars go. I think it cost me $57 and $15 of that was to have Discount Steel cut the pipes.

TheTommygunner83 were did you get the pipe? I went to Lowe’s and all they had was 1.25 Are you talking black pipe?
@nickw67344 жыл бұрын
@@MrElectriccity it's sch80 plastic for heating. It's not metal. If you ask for sch80 in white or grey at 1.5inch you will get an outside diameter of 1.9 which is the exact same rogue uses

It's also expensive as fuck. I would buy a stubby axle for 130$ before making one on my own. If I did, I would make it at least 90lbs and probably thicker than 1.9"

At 2:54, how do you call that thing that you are screwing off of the barbell? Can that be purchased online or in store for a DIY barbell project?
@blbreptiles41266 жыл бұрын
Bro wtf?!?! Get 7feet of 2 inch pipe, get the metal pipe clamps(you make them tight with a allon wrench) and boom, you got yourself a axle bar

I'm just seeing this... how much weight will that be able to hold tho? Thinking about doing that exact thing.

More than you will ever axle deadlift.

I was watching this and thinking exactly the same thing. Get a 7 ft piece of scaffold tubing. Fix a collar either end where you want the weights to stop. Put your weights on then put your other collars on. Obviously you would need 4 collars but that's what iv done.
@incorectulpolitic3 жыл бұрын
@@markgardiner1742 from where do you get collars? Could you please post the link? How much they cost?

You know what is very funny? All this Diy Equipment guys on youtube, they all look like they never trained in their life. This guys always have a lot of equipment and sometimes very expensive equipment, but perhaps they dont use it.
