Beautiful job. Love the design on the doors. The wallpaper is a nice touch. During these inflationary times, your DIY projects are a real aid to saving a lot of greenbacks.

I love it! I used to build cabinets. My two married daughters were the unfortunate recipients of my love of building cabinets. 🥰 I have since lost my love of making things though.

@@ChristinaMuscari I’m about to age myself, but many many moons ago that cabinet was only $19.00. IKEA was the place you went to when you were young or in college starting out with nothing! It was cheap and you could furnish a whole 1 bedroom apartment for about $300. I miss the 90’s!

Great idea! Simple and fun as well as practical. Love the trim detail although it would also look nice (and shave a few more dollars) if you only go partial way across. Thanks!

Word of advice but a table saw for between $100-200 and cut your own strips! I do that for my accent walls and other projects and you can go a step further and get a cheap or used planer

Love this, especially what you did to the doors!! I have the same one assembled and waiting for me to create something. Since the top and bottom have the slightly raised side panels (where you needed to put the washers), I was thinking of maybe sanding down the raised part and even putting a little filler where the screws are. Do you think that would work out well?

hi! how did you anchor yours to the wall with the pieces provided? i have a gap between my cabinet and wall and i’m trying to figure out how i’m going to anchor it without it leaning backwards since the screws aren’t super long

Stained wood is not protected in any way. Grabbing the wooden doors for opening, placing stuff on top, any moisture will likely lead to grubby stains. I'd always recommend a clear finish on top. One of the pains of the cabinets for me are the screws that are visible from the side. I don't know why they construct it like this, with the sides sticking up and the top in between the side pieces.
