As simple as this was.. this is by far the best video I’ve seen for setting my router bit. Thank you for the side view and getting to the point. Some people tend to talk too much.

Already had this in my mind. Now I have seen it with my own eyes. I will definitely consider this.

Some people say clamp the other side of the wood....I say clamp the router and set up a fence if you had a bunch of them to make.

Great job! I'm new to routing, but using this video for trim will pay for the router on the first job alone! Thanks!

When i do this i tack the trim pieces to a wooden work bench with pin nails. I screw scrap wood blocks to the bench then nail the trim to the blocks with 18 ga pin nails. Just two. Then route continuously then you can pop the piece off the pin nails with one tap of the hammer. Or use a router table.

Screwing it to the workhorse from underneath means you could do it in one pass .. that would save some time.. but hey, who’s rushing! Thanks for the video as I’m giving this a go soon

What size Roman ogee did you use?

Nice! See how the neighbor parks at 28 and at 50 seconds you can hear another power tool in the distance. A lot of DIYers! It's the tweaker neighbor fiddling around at midnight that gets the dogs going that's the problem!

if you don't mind, how wide is it, thanks

No way. Are you doing this on common boards? Looks like it

When I tried to create a profile on the edge of a 3m long board, my routing lines never match up. I'm at wits end about this. Probably I'm not accurate enough doing freehand routes. I'm guessing a router table would help tremendously..?
@90210sky2 жыл бұрын
this is not free handing , there is a guiding bearing in the cutting bit.
@bradlecouter12097 жыл бұрын
why not clamp the other side so you can do one continuous pass with the router?
@Zhivagoblea7 жыл бұрын
It's a "4" inch board. It'll still bump it.

Why is there always a penis that makes a smart ass comment like they know any better, make a video and demonstrate your better skills then.

Just wanted to say if u clamp it from the backside haha I said backside but then you can run a clean pass no stopping
@volcanowb5 жыл бұрын
Nice
@MrKlymaxer6 жыл бұрын
You should clamp on the other side, and run one continues pass left to right without stoping.
@Zhivagoblea6 жыл бұрын
It's a small board. It would still make contact.

Is that 1/4 or 5/32 bit?

Can anyone tell me if there’s a setting on the router because idk how he’s doing a straight line like that ? Lol usually the router keeps going deeper right ?
@Zhivagoblea5 жыл бұрын
Obe, I put it at the height I needed and what stops it is the bearing at the base of the router bit. Make sure there is one.

@@Zhivagoblea Thank you so much!

There is a bearing on the router to stop it going deeper

what size is the ogee bit you are using?
@Zhivagoblea7 жыл бұрын
I grabbed what they had at Rockler. Not sure I can get that info. It gave a good profile for that size board.
@Lsi5815 жыл бұрын
You should clamp the other side of the board so you can do one straight run
