Thank you watching my video. As you would expect, this device cannot measure 12V. The device uses a 1 ohm resistor as the load, and the current that flows when using a 1.2 volt NiMH battery is calculated to be 1.2 amps. This power is 1.44 watts, and this resistor is 3 watts, so it can withstand. On the other hand, at 12V, the current is 12 amps and the power is 144 watts. This will burn the resistor. Moreover, the screen display does not support such high voltages. Therefore, as you say, you need to lower the voltage by means such as voltage division . It may be possible to measure by lowering it to about 1.2V, but since I have never done it, it is not a guarantee.

Sir, i want to measure 12V battery. what if i'm using bulbs / fan instead of big resistor for the load? is it causing any error in measurements? thanks

Hi. Nice project.. What changes do I need to make to test 18650 batteries?
@fusion747pc3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. The 18650 battery is a lithium-ion battery with a high voltage of 3.7V, so the 1 ohm resistor connected to this device will cause too much current. Therefore, you can change to a 3 to 4 ohm resistor and reduce the current to about 1 amp. Also, resistors should use around 10 watts. Then I think you have to the cutoff voltage 0.95V to appropriate voltage such as 3.0V in the sketch. I haven't tried it, but I think you can make measurements with this device by making that change.

Can i make multiple slot batteries with this project?
