I like videos like this it just goes to show people that you don't need alot of money in order to do upgrades to projects that you can find used or free lumber you just have to look for it great video thank you

Thanks so much! Why not do things as budget friendly as possible? We agree it’s the best way!!! 😁

Free is good. Motor oil not so much. But now you (and I) know that. Great video. Stay warm.

I found that is because you used diesel with the motor oil! The only used oil didn't seem to leave a rainbow river like Y'all were talking about in your video.

I use motor oil and I do not cut with diesel or kerosine. I reapply annually. (Roughly)

I’ve used used motor oil in the past and had good results. What I’ve done was brushed on straight used motor oil. And it’s worked well. It just needs to be coated every year or so. But the ground contact wood projects look brand new after 7 years And the other negative is that not all the oil soaks in. So some will come off if rubbed. So used motor oil is a terrible idea for something like a bench. Because the oil will come off and stain the clothes. If you use it on the correct project, you’ll have great results. Like I used it on my trash can corral

Nice job man! I have a question, I got the tractor supply 6x8 trailer with the wood floor. My sides are square tubing not angle iron like yours. If I add 3/4 plywood sides with self tapping screws do you think the the trailer will rust out around those screw holes?
@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid2 жыл бұрын
They might, the trailer can and will rust over time no matter what

Next use old coffee instead of the oil

What size boards did you use for the floor?
@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid2 жыл бұрын
1”x12”x8’ - but it’s rough cut lumber so it’s true to size. Not what you get in a box store.

Put a couple more coats if oil and it’ll last longer

That trailer turned out freaking awesome my friend. I cringed a bit when I saw you using a plank to hold the trailer up while you crawl underneath. Be safe and use your tractor to lift it up. 😁

Thank you! Tractor would have worked! Wish I’d thought of it.
